Title: AJ Johnson named SEC freshman of the week
Post by: Volznut on October 24, 2011, 04:22:11 EDT
13 tackles vs Bama. He's a stud, and he and Maggitt will be anchoring a very good Lb corps for years to come.

Our LB's have really impressed me this year.

I'm glad to see the light come on for Johnson. Early in the year I thought he was either too slow or not taking good angles... looks like it was a positioning thing that has been fixed by playing.

Guys like Johson and Maggitt give me hope for the future.

I think he will switch to MLB next year. He is the perfect LB against a team like Bama or LSU. Big and physical. He's not the best OLB vs a spread team.

Yep, I think he will be the prototypical MLB for the Dooley / Wilcox system.

I like how the staff handled his "issues
For example, his alignment issue allowed the long TD pass by #1 against UF but after the play he received a lot of face time from the coach but it was instuctional in tone based upon body motions by both he and the coach.
He has become much more aggresive the last couple of games and that is is showing in the stats

Wait... are you saying the staff made an "adjustment"?
