And he'll get a "long term" deal, whatever that means. When the UofL's of the college football world start paying that kind of money, things have really gone bananas. He's not worth half that. :frown: That's pretty much where I'm at, too. $3 million - yeah, pay him that and go with it, but not $4.1 million. He's a good football coach, but he hasn't earned that kind of jump yet. The one thing I do respect about Strong is that he doesn't have an agent. He represents himself. I know, but to suggest that what Dooley made is enough for a coach that, while not your favorite, is a clear step up (or so most of the country thinks), just doesn't work. But I am sure you weren't using the "half" literally...just saying that's more than Strong deserves. Which I agree with, but I didn't think $4 million a year to UT was outrageous. Not when that salary barely makes the top 10..... |
