At the first of the season after those pitchers were injured, if we were told that with 10-11 games to go the Braves would still be 4th in the National League in pitching, considering that we all thought they would hit well, we would have expected that they would be in first place in the division.

I've never seen a team whiff as much as these guys. They are next to last in the league in runs scored. Only two teams in the league have struck out more. And believe it or not, they've gotten worse in September. Did you see the September averages for some of those guys?

Given that they lost two starters before the season began, you can't ask for any more from the pitching staff.  But this lineup is very poorly built.  It's basically a lineup full of #5 hitters, with no table setters.  I place most of the blame on Wren.  He gave those huge contracts to Uggla (who we'll still be on the hook for next year, even though he's long gone), and BJ Upton.  When a small market team is saddled with one bad contract, it's crippling.  Two is lethal.  And Chris Johnson, who was signed to a big extension after his one big season last year (that he hasn't come close to duplicating before or since) will probably end up being a third.

It's a real shame, because the young foundation is there, and most of those guys are locked up for next several years.  But as long as Wren keeps giving outsized contracts to declining veterans, they're never going to be all they could be.
