Title: Word is Peterman to start tomorrow

Alright Bandit, let's hope you're right.

I say no. I don't buy into saving Dobbs' redshirt. While Dobbs didn't have a lot of success last year, I think he gives us a better chance than Peterman. I couldnt are less about his redshirt status since I hope what we have coming in is going to be better than what we have on campus at this point. Also I would like to see a fullback (or tight end put in the backfield) to help slow down the rush. End of rant.

My son and I were debating whether to hunt the evening and miss the first half (Tennessee's young sportsman deer hunt is this weekend) or skip the evening hunt to make it back in time for the game.

I think our minds were just made for us. Hope the deer are moving well in the evening.

Peterman will kill it and be the QB of the future.  Folks will look back on this as a key moment in Tennessee history.   :powert:

Ahahahahha, no seriously.   :dielaughing:

I am just saying he deserves more of a chance is all.  Haven't seen enough to make up my mind for sure.  This will be a stiff test, make no mistake.

My expectations are that he can be a game manager type and keep us competitive.  Not expecting him to tear it up, but I hope he can be competent.  Having more running ability will help.

I also think the red shirt will come off Dobbs if he stinks it up, but IDK.

You gotta hunt Creek - unless he's into the game. Some of my fondest memories from growing up are of listening to afternoon games while snacking in Big South Fork, before heading out for the evening.

It was always fun to see what games would come through on the way home too. AM radio is a wonderful thing.

It's just too bad Peterman gets thrown in against a team like Bama. It would have been nice to let him get some reps against UT-C. Not fair to expect excellence in that situation.

That line of thinking, to me, makes it even more of a bad idea to throw Dobbs in.  Peterman has been getting 2nd team reps all year, and has seen a bit of game experience this year.  Throwing Dobbs in vs. Bama would yield no offensive success at all and would waste his redshirt.

Are you really banking our next three years on Dobbs? I agree that the probability of success with Dobbs is minimal but I think the probability with Peterson is a bit less.

Bottom line: unless Peterman and the OL perform an abrupt about-face, our best chance to score tomorrow is probably on defense.  When we punt, it should be viewed as a small victory- because when Peterman is touching the ball on every play, the most likely alternative isn't a score, but a turnover. :banghead:

If Worley is back for SC, I think it's a waste to use a year of Dobbs' eligibility.  If Worley is out longer or even the year, different story.

Some of my favorite memories of football and hunting are coming out of the woods for lunch and listening to the UT game in my grandpa's old Dodge pickup over a lunch of Vienna sausages and saltines or something similar. Or carrying my radio into the woods to listen to the games while hunting. The last time I did that was the '07 Florida game. We were drawn for the early archery hunt at Prentice Cooper. I scared every deer out of the woods when Eric Berry housed Tebow's INT. Of course we know what happened after that.
