Title: Poor Mizzou has already lost the SECC game
Post by: Volznut on December 01, 2014, 05:53:22 EST
Raise your hand if you think Slive will allow Bama to lose that game and lose millions for the SEC...

I know one thing for sure -- ticket prices bottomed out when Georgia didn't go.   I sold 4 of my tix early on and make a nice amount....I finally sold the last 3 today for $500 less per ticket!  Geesh!    Normally prices do drop the last week, but not normally this much.....Mizzou is hurting the ticket trade on stubhub for sure!

Bama doesn't need any help this week. Mizzou has no chance.....well, slim and none and slim left town.

If it is a close game...and it could be...watch for some help

I agree.  With Bama being the only SEC potential for the playoff I predict some shady calls against Missouri in the 2nd half if the game is close.

You seriously believe that Mike Slive is going to conspire with SEC officials to fix a football game?

That isn't literally how it's done, no.

With a nudge and a wink. Unspoken but understood.

The referees will be told to call the game loose on Bama (no or very few holding calls like they normally) and to call everything against Missouri. Look for a lot of "The prior play is under review" calls and no call will go against Bama and every call go against Missouri.  Bama DBs will be able to hold and assault Missouri receivers without penalty. I predict very few off-sides calls because the SEC officials suddenly cannot see them. Even if Rocky Goode is in the replay booth, do not expect many calls to go against Bama.

By the way, I watched Bama several times this year and Saturday was the only time I remember a holding call on Bama.

That is not just because it is Bama because the SEC officials have called games just like this always to favor the higher ranked team or if they just do not like the other coach. If it is Penn Wagers(?), look for a lot of long explanations that make little sense. There is just too much money and prestige for the SEC office to let Bama lose a close game.

I see a repeat of the Iron Bowl. Close for a half and then Bama goes wild in the 2nd half, with or without help from the zebras.

No....that was Slive on the grassy knoll......He was in communication with the Warren Commission telling them to omit the part about him telling the refs to look the other way on Bama and screw Mizzou.

True, Phil. We both saw this happen first hand.

If these SEC plots were real, imagine all the money these refs could make after their retirement with a tell all book about Slive's machinations. Why, these refs would be running to book publishers so fast it would make their financial advisors head swim.

OK, another proposed topic: Paul is Dead.

If I thought a scenario like that were true, I wouldn't be able to watch a college football game. It would be like wrestling. The problem with your theory is, eventually it would get out to the public, and that would result in the biggest scandal in college football history. I seriously doubt Slive is that stupid.

Yeah bammer dbs always seem to hit the wr early and it's never called. Wondered if anyone else noticed that.

If the Tide plays as poorly most of the game as they have at times, the Tigers will win. Bama has been inconsistent this season, and Mizzou will be sky high for them. Very impressed with their coaching staff. Their defense has forced many turnovers this season, and Bama hasn't.  Anything can happen.

I'm not sure there's a better coached team in the conference than Mizzou. Pinkel has done much more with much less than the rest of the East these last two years.

But I think Alabama rolls.

Agree about Pinkel...what he has accomplished is amazing.

If he can figure out a way to shut down Cooper, bammer really doesn't have much else. Kiffin tends to over-rely on a star receiver.  He did the same thing at USC.   My Vol buddy who lives in LA says all the USC fans used to complain about that.  When the star receiver got shut down, so did USC.

Arkansas figure it out, I don't know why no one else has.  I know that Kiffin has done a good job of moving Cooper around, but for chrisakes...put your best DB on him 1 on 1 play 3 safeties and have them zone double him.  Play a "3 deep" permanent nickel, essentially.  Just make sure those safeties can tackle RBs....

Maybe the age factor and his indiscretions a couple of years are coming into play. Excellent coach, though.

As I post elsewhere kiffin is a one trick pony who over relies I'm on one star wr. If mizzou can figure a way to stop cooper like arkansas did they can keep it close. One thing is sure is that they are probably the second best d bammer has faced this year after Ole miss.

And we know how that one ended... :naughty:
