Title: Help for Out-of-Staters (Powell Knowledge Helpful)
Post by: murfvol on September 03, 2015, 07:44:03 EDT
Friends of friends are coming down from Michigan to ride Royal Blue this weekend, and need to watch the MSU game. They're staying in Caryville, so where would you recommend they watch the game?

I'm thinking they may as well drive to downtown Knoxville. Any ideas in the Caryville, Clinton, or Powell areas are appreciated. I was a proud Powell resident for five years, but can't think of any place in existence then I'd send them.

Spicy's on Emory Road, about a mile East (towards Halls) from I-75 would be a good option.  Really good wings.

There is a Chili's on Clinton Highway near the Callahan intersection that will have it.

Also, Aubrey's just off of the interstate at the Emory Road exit has a nice bar area with a couple of big screens.

And if they are so inclined, Hooter's at the Merchant Drive exit will certainly have the game on a big screen or 10.

I resemble that remark.

Here is a photo of my lunch yesterday from Cooper's, which is adjacent to Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth:

Hey, if you are in the Wacko area, on the North side of town (West side of 35) is a place called Heitmillers

Highly, highly recommend their chicken fried steak

I will hide this post from my wife.....She is a connoisseur of chicken fried steaks. If she saw this, we'd be taking a long road trip.

Drove thru Waco on our way from Dallas/Fort Worth to Jarrell, which is just off of I-35 about 35 miles north of Austin.  That's where my son, grandson, and daughter in law live.
