Title: Wonder when "Volunteers" is going to be deemed offensive to some? I can see
Post by: volsboy on January 30, 2018, 11:57:14 EST
snowflakes wanting us to drop the Davy Crockett mascot because we all know he was a war mongering, racist who killed a lot of Mexicans. Until they got him. Times, they are a changin'. Plus, I just can't deal with Atlanta being called anything but the Braves.

Never.  It's inherently unoffensive.   Volunteers means Tennesseans back in the day volunteered for wars.  Although our troops were criticized directly during Vietnam by hippies at the airport calling them "child killers", the left experienced an enormous backlash from that and has learned it's lesson.  Nowadays even the left is careful to criticize policy and not troops.

This is one we won't have to worry about IMO.
