Title: Assume every position group on your roster is mediocre, except for one...
Post by: Black Diamond Vol on December 22, 2018, 02:22:07 EST
...which is great. And you get to pick the position. Which one do you pick?

Unless there's a once in a generation, Peyton-like QB available, I'm going with the OL. Because a great OL can control the pace of play and make life easier on both sides of the ball.

And if we land Wright, this could be our best OL class ever on paper. Of course, we've signed lots of great OL over the past decade, and for various reasons very few of them have lived up to the hype. But if Pruitt and Co. can develop these guys properly, they could be transformative for our program.

Agree 100%, control the game, break their will, keep your defense off the field.

I go with a great QB. Football is a QB driven sport. A great QB can mask other issues. Mind you I say Great QB, not just a good one.

A great QB can't mask anything when spends a lot of time on his back.

Joshua Dobbs says look at what a good -- not even a great -- QB with the right assets can do for a team.
