Mizzou had 27 points with 7:30 left in the first half. Ended the half with 31. We played those last 8 minutes of the first half basically without Grant and Admiral. Kyle sat during a large part of that time span also.

Not only that, but they held Admiral down for most of the game as well. He didn't really get loose until it was already decided.

Last year, that was the formula for beating UT- stop the "big 2". This year, any/all of Bone, Bowden, Alexander, Pons, etc. can pick up the slack.

And Turner made a big positive step forward last night, too.

It's hard to find a weakness with this team right now. :powert:

to say I was impressed that they didn't fold or get frustrated like many previous TN teams.....this team is the best I've seen wearing Orange in my lifetime.         :powert:                   :patriot:

BTW, remember how our big achilles heel last year was the backcourt? We only lost one guy off that team (James Daniel), and most of us felt we HAD to sign a bigtime PG to replace him if we were going to take the next step. Then we whiffed on all our recruiting targets and ended up signing no one. It looked like our guards would be a big weakness this year, too.

But fast forward a few months, and Jordan Bone has blossomed into arguably the best PG in America, and that's not hyperbole.

It's rare that a team that was already very good can return so many upperclassmen and be this much improved. Usually, by their 3rd or 4th year, you've already seen everything most players are capable of, and there's very little room for upward mobility. But apparently not with Rick Barnes' teams.

That man may be the best developer of talent we've ever had at UT. And not just in basketball.

You could make an argument for us having 4 FIRST TEAM ALL SEC guys on this team in AS, GW, KA, and JB. I know that won't happen, but a case can be made

For the 1st time since I followed Tennessee Volunteer Men's Basketball. I feel like Tennessee has a real shot of winning a National Title. First of all Tennessee has a great coach in Rick Barnes. Barnes has a great staff. The players play great team Basketball. No one cares who gets the credit. All the players have high basketball IQ. The players are very coachable. They players have great chemistry. The players are physically and mentally tough. The players are very talented. Grant Williams is one of the best post players in college basketball. Admiral Schoefield is one of the most versitle players in college basketball. Kyle Alexander is one of the most athletic centers in college basketball. Jordan Bone is one of the fastest players in college basketball. Yves Pons is one of the freakiest athletes in college basketball. Lamonte Turner is one of the best bench players in college basketball. Jordan Bowden has elevated his game. Derek Walker and John Fulkerson have improved. Jalen Johnson has shown flashes. It has been so much fun watching this Tennessee Basketball team.
