Title: The only reason we shouldn't pound UF into the river next week...
Post by: Black Diamond Vol on September 18, 2022, 04:50:09 EDT
...is because it's UF.

That's not a good team, folks. And yet I STILL won't be shocked if we lose. :frown:

After one win in a 17-year stretch, about 40% of the time with us having the better team, and after sitting through the games in '95 and '02 and '14, I'll never be surprised by anything that happens against UF.

In fact, I think deep down inside I expect to lose the game next week.

But, yes, we SHOULD beat them...maybe by multiple scores.

Uf is like penn and teller... The ch*t they pull outta their arse to beat us... I'm right there with you guys... I'll believe it an hour after the last tick on the clock and we have the higher score.

Btw, the fact that Anthony Richardson is still -- at this very moment -- being touted as one of the best QBs in the SEC is a little mind-boggling. I won't be surprised if we make him look like it next week, because that's just what we do, but he's been terrible two weeks in a row.

Richardson has looked like Guarantano so far this year, but money say he'll be the next Tom Brady in 7 days

If we can't beat this Florida team next week I'm not sure we ever will.....And like others, I fully expect the Florida QB to become a All American candidate after our game and probably break QB rushing stats.

I expect his passing line to be something like 3/8 for 41 yds and 2 pics. But he’ll drop 3 bills and 5 TDs on the ground. UF wins on the last play when he breaks contain on a 4th and 27 from their own 2 and takes it to the house. :frown:

You saw a bit of what I think our plan next week will be tonight, especially in the 1st quarter
Our pass rush was different than last week
Then we turned the dogs loose against the angry man who thought he was wearing a tutu

We should destroy them. I also lived through the numerous disappointments of the last 17 years, and get that we don't have any confidence it will happen.

But for me at least, it feels different this year. I am up for Florida and wound up tight when the game starts. It has lost most almost all the appeal of the 1992-2007 era, but it's still a big game for Tennessee, still basically the 2nd or 3rd biggest game on our schedule because it still is a big deal in the SEC East standings.

This year, it seems just like another game. Don't get me wrong, it's still a big game for Tennessee, and I still really care whether we win, but I feel zero tension about the game.

I really truly do expect to win this year, and unlike a lot of you, I don't have that nagging feeling that they will pull it out of their arse somehow.  I just don't.  I guess we will find out if that is justified or not.

Quick fact...their run D looks worse than ever. I think Heupel is salivating.  :naughty:

My feelings also.   If not now, when?
