Title: Conference Realignment Resumes?

I loathe realignment, but it seems the have-nots are working furiously to do... something.

I see the PAC (pick a number) ceasing to exist as we know it.
The remaining better teams will be siphoned off and the also rans (think Stanford, Cal, OSU and the Washington schools) will merge with another conference, say the WAC?
If that happens we are down to 4 Power conferences
That may be the saving grace of the Big 12(ish)
I see the SEC possibly picking up 2 more teams but will be picky (one each from ACC/Big 12 or more likely 2 from the ACC)

A lot of moving parts but the Big Can't Count's PAC 12 raid had destabilized the situation
At the end of it we could end up with 3 super conferences (SEC/BigCC/Big 12+) and then all the rest

I see the ACC as more likely to survive than the Big 12, way more likely now that OU and TU have bolted.  The ACC still has traditional powers Miami and FSU, no matter how far down they are, and though down a bit Clemson is still relevant.  They have some decent mid tier teams also.

The Big 12 could change that dynamic by merging with what is left of the Pac 12, or picking its bones, but no way is the Big 12 ahead of ACC when their headliner is now Baylor or TCU.  One of which just, you know, lost the NC 65-7.

The Pac 12 is definitely the weakest and was even before the defection of Angeleno teams.  I think there is a broad consensus on that.
