201  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: I don't know what's funnier... on: September 11, 2012, 11:19:54 EDT
That's the way I see it....I think we will score points and make UF keep up, which I doubt they can.  I can't even name their WR group.  However, this series has weird things happen, like center/qb exchange problems, a driving rain storm, special team problems, etc etc.
202  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: ESPN Gameday coming to Knoxville Saturday for the first time since 2004.*** on: September 09, 2012, 11:33:25 EDT
I am shocked they didn't go to ND/Michigan St after Ark lost.
203  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So I just saw on UT Sports' twitter... on: September 09, 2012, 06:08:12 EDT
Plus those that are held for season tickets are released to the general public after the first game.  That is from a poster on the Scout board that works in some form with the athletic office.
204  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Mizzou is going to have to step it up if they want to fit in the SEC on: September 09, 2012, 06:04:49 EDT
The thing that Mizz and A&M have to learn is that it is 4 quarters.  They may stick with the team in the first half, but the big D-Lineman and O-Lineman start to wear you down.  Plus that was the first sec games, and there were several people getting hurt.  Let's see how they look come November.
205  General Boards / Ticket Exchange / Georgia State tickets available on: September 06, 2012, 04:53:34 EDT
I know not the most sexy game, but I have 4 I would sell.
206  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Cowboys on: September 06, 2012, 04:50:47 EDT
Jason Witten is one of my most favorite former vols.
207  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: As much as it pains me to say it, looks like Bama has reloaded again. on: September 03, 2012, 06:29:36 EDT
I think their weakness is their secondary.  I agree that they will just wear teams out by putting all three RB's out there with their great OL, but I don't think their defense is as great as previous years.
208  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Just think if we still had Da Rick and other WR thoughts on: September 03, 2012, 03:35:43 EDT
I said the same thing Vinnie.  I would have loved to seen all three line up together, but if it was true that DR was a cancer in the locker room, maybe this will  make this team closer and allow them to come together.
209  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The Tennessee-Georgia State game is being carried on pay per view in Georgia on: August 29, 2012, 05:15:58 EDT
Not to sound like a know it all, but you will be able to see every UT game if you choose.  With the new TV contract, each game for every SEC school is carried either on CBS, ESPN Networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU), Fox Sports South, SEC Network (old Jefferson Pilot), and I believe CSS.  Each school in the SEC is allowed only one PPV game.  The Ga St game this year is the PPV game that UT determined.  It will be available around the state and boarding states.  All the rest of UT's games will be on the above mentioned networks.
210  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: How many of Y'all will be in the Georgia Dome on Friday? on: August 28, 2012, 06:41:58 EDT
I will be, along with my wife and another couple friends of ours.
211  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: When did you know.... on: August 27, 2012, 08:08:49 EDT
I grew up watching UT but I think I really became a fan in about 1985 or so.  I still remember the Sugar Bowl and how pissed I was when Miami scored first to go up 7 - 0 and Keith Jackson said something to the effect of "Here comes Miami".  I was so glad we creamed them and they didn't score after that!
212  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Lots of corners being backed into on this board re: Petrino on: August 24, 2012, 04:42:51 EDT
I don't disagree with you, but I still say that UT doesn't want that can of worms....but hey, I could be wrong.
213  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The curse continues on: August 24, 2012, 04:39:08 EDT
You gotta love these quotes:

After learning the hard way last season after injuries to both Justin Hunter and Tyler Bray, Tennessee was determined to be able to adjust to any possible situation this year, working on a number of contingency plans over the last eight months. Because of that meticulous preparation, the Vols feel comfortable moving forward without Rogers.

"I would say very minimal [catch-up is needed for the rest of the receivers]," Dooley said. "We have developed and planned, all through since January, for any contingency and I mean that. Whether it was Justin [Hunter], Da'Rick or Tyler Bray, so it is very minimal because the guys have gotten an inordinate amount of reps. Had somebody else, [Cordarrelle Patterson], gotten those reps, then we would have taken some reps from CP in other areas, so they really did the same. Really who it hurts is probably the eighth or ninth guy, not the third guy.
214  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Lots of corners being backed into on this board re: Petrino on: August 24, 2012, 04:32:04 EDT
If we still had Hamilton as AD, then I might could see that...having Hart as the AD, I really don't see that happening.  I think the name is a sexy pick, but he has to much baggage at every stop that he has made.  You might think that he has learned his lesson, but can you really be sure?  I just don't see UT going that route.

As far as the Rogers situation goes, I hate to lose him because I wanted to see what we could do with 3 GREAT receivers, but I would rather lose him before the season starts instead of 3 games into the season.  At least now we can make plans to move on without him.  Also, if the reports are true about his attitude and what he was like in the lockerroom, this may be a blessing and will bring the team closer.
215  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Is Nashville about to get a new landmark? on: August 09, 2012, 06:02:06 EDT
Being a commercial real estate lender, I too will believe it when I see it.  It is one thing to have an idea.  It is another to make the economics work between rental rates, occupancy, and construction costs.  Land at $3MM is a tough pill to swallow.  Also, downtown nashville already has a brand new office building, The Pinncle, and it isn't nearly full.
216  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Anyone have any extra Bama tickets? on: July 17, 2012, 04:31:53 EDT
I have a co-worker looking for 4 - 5 Ut/Bama tickets.  If anyone has extra, let me know.

Thanks!
217  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Anyone know exactly what Roy Adams did at the Memphis Caravan stop last night? on: May 09, 2012, 11:29:51 EDT
I was there last night.  Roy was WAY off base and is an embarassment to the school.  Apparantly he did this to Dooley at a Quarterback Club meeting too.  Dooley has had enough of him.
218  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Bama lost 13 starters on: April 30, 2012, 06:38:58 EDT
The Freshman QB's at UF looked very lost last year.  I know they will have spring practice and all summer and will look better, but this is one year it looks like it will be good that we play them at the beginning of the year!  After two cupcakes and being able to throw it up anywhere then having their next game be in front of a hostile crowd with what should be a fairly good Secondary, I think we have some great opportunities for some pick 6's.  Or at least i hope we do!
219  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So will there be a slump for the LadyVols since Coach Summit has called it quits on: April 19, 2012, 09:41:55 EDT
Like everyone else said..the parity is so much better now and it is about the one dominant player.

The good news is Holly was/is a great recruiter and was the head recruiter for alot of the great players we have had.
220  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Pearl/Petrino situational comparison. on: April 09, 2012, 07:18:22 EDT
He didn't just "have an affair". Read more about what he did. Dude hired her the day the job was posted, and a case of sexual harrassment can be made because by the law, this can look like if someone would sleep with him they get the job. It's illegal. Also, he lied to his boss about the whole thing, which is why he got suspended. Not to mention now there's investiogation going on about a cover up plot with the police, which if true, can be a criminal offense.

You missed my point Nut.  Whether what Petrino did was illegal or not, which there is a lot of "what-ifs" in your post, that isn't the point.  The NCAA isn't involved because he didn't break an NCAA rule.  He might have broke other laws, but not NCAA rules.  Therefore, you can't compare the two incidents.  If Petrino had lied to the NCAA about a recruiting situation, then yes, the situations would be comparable.
221  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Pearl/Petrino situational comparison. on: April 09, 2012, 06:51:29 EDT
Last time I looked, having an affair wasn't an NCAA infection or rule he thumbed his nose at.

While I liked Pearl alot, he not only committed a NCAA infection with the BBQ, but then when confronted by the NCAA about said infection, lied to the NCAA AGAIN about that when they had proof of a picture.

You can't compare these two incidents like that.  Petrino didn't break an NCAA rule and then lie again to the NCAA when he was confronted about it.

Like Pearl and Love Pearl all you want, but what he did was STUPID.  If he had told the NCAA the truth about the picture when asked, Pearl would have received a slap on the wrist.
222  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Just have to share... on: March 12, 2012, 04:41:48 EDT
Thanks!  We think he is pretty amazing! :)

Vinnie, it will be fun sharing the stories of our little guys since they are so close in age.  Get ready!  You want them to crawl but when they do, your life changes!  You will then be wishing they were stationary.
223  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Just have to share... on: March 11, 2012, 08:47:46 EDT
Just wanted to share a pic of my little guy!  He is 8 1/2 months old and crawled forward for the first time today!  We have had the backwards thing going for a couple of weeks!
224  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Wonder how many former colt fans there are in TN today... on: March 08, 2012, 09:40:57 EST
Still a Titans fan.

Will continue to be a Titans fan.

Will continue to root for Peyton when it doesn't hurt the Titans which will be easier with him out of the division (provided he doesn't go to Houston).

I would like to see him in KC with Eric Berry.

Hear hear....I second this.  I am and always have been a Titans fan.  I have wanted Peyton to do well, but bad against the titans!
225  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Uconn leads Cuse 47-46 with about 7:00 to go... on: March 08, 2012, 09:39:48 EST
From everything I had read, Uconn was in the tournament no questions asked and not on the bubble.  Lunardi had them as a 10 seed, which is comfortable in the field.  So I don't see how this helps or hurts us.

In his latest projections, Lunardi has Memphis an 8 seed in Kentucky's bracket.  I hope that happens. I would love to see Memphis get pounded like a red headed step child!
