Vols win. I've been telling guys that I think we'll beat 'em. Early game, at home, everyone is rested and healthy....I really think we win. I think the D is going to dominate them and our ground game (includes Dobbs running out of called passing plays) will be too much for them, they get focused on him running and then he burns 'em deep.       

Here's what impressed me about Jennings. The Circle of Life clip I saw showed him being extremely physical. Combine that with his willingness to switch positions, and he seems to possess every quality one could want.

I agree....he appears to be a team player with a heart like Tebow and skills like K. Washington.         

 

reinstate him now that he's not going to be charged...I understand they may be uncomfortable with it, but how can they refuse? If there wasn't enough to charge him then what is there to be concerned about?

bowl win they should have confidence, I would be more concerned that coming out of fall camp and a summer full of pump weights and getting strong that they might come out and go through BG like a hot knife through butter and then expect to do the same to OK and get a smack down. I'd prefer they played someone that could give them a good game, not too good mind you, and they'd go into the OK game with a better feel for the effort it will take to beat them. I don't think we're lacking confidence so much right now as an understanding of the effort it takes (perseverance and tenacity), and mental toughness, for 60 minutes to beat the really good teams.           

mention us fans, a false indication of our ability. I'd rather they fall after we had really been tested.                 

 

while I missed the green hills and lakes of TN, the people in Texas were great. I made friends with lots of Jack Rabbits (dadgum things were everywhere).       

 

First of all, we need to allow the military to carry firearms while they are on duty stateside.  Fort Hood, the DC Naval Yard, Chattanooga - none of those military personnel were armed because they aren't allowed to be.  Had they been the outcome could have been totally different.  The only military allowed to carry firearms (when not training, and then they are issued weapons only while at the firing ranges) are MPs. 

This needs to change. 

the outside, arming everyone on an installation would probably create more issues than it would solve....my son just separated and he was an MP and he had to deal with a lot of well-trained killers who often got violent but who were unarmed thankfully. It's places such as were hit yesterday, remote satellite locations, that need some security.        

 

season then I'd say yes. Vegas puts the over/under for the 2015 team at 7.5 last I heard and I think that's about right. I personally think 8 would be a good season, 9 great and 7 ok but losing, again barring major injuries, would indicate to me that something is wrong at the top.     

the Florida loss....we had a terrible offense at that time (OL and QB ring a bell?) and if not for Florida having an equally bad offense we wouldn't have been in the game. I think we'll have better info with which to gauge Butch as a coach after this year and not fully IMO until 2 more years (when we should be on a fairly equal talent level with most teams).   

my answer and given that situation I would say no I wouldn't have hired Cut. Cut is a much better coach than Dooley but I think in the long run Butch is going to benefit us more than Cut would have. Cut was getting a little long in the tooth and we needed Butch's enthusiasm (like Bruce brought to the BB program) to bring back the energy and excitement to the program which had dwindled away to just a spark under Fulmer and Dooley.   

the chick that the FSU QB hit bore some responsibility because she hit him first and I got blasted because it's different standards. No doubt the QB was a POS for hitting her like he did, but for nearly everyone to say she didn't precipitate the entire event ....I was somewhat surprised. I was trying to be completely unbiased as a judge should be and I've watched the video 4-5 x and I don't see how she could avoid being charged too. But yeah, there's definitely double standards.             

 

D of comparable talent, Chavis had some great talent. I loved Chavis because he was a Tennessee boy but I can't forgive him for blowing the SECCG against LSU....we put Davies out and Toefield (wasn't that the RB?) and he allowed a freshman white boy come in and run on us and leave us with pie on our face....that was inexcusable! I be damned if I'd let him run on us, force him to throw but don't just drop back and wait for him to peel of 8-12 yrds over and over again.

I agree with HTV, 7.5 is fair. We still have a tough schedule and while skill level is improved it still isn't what is needed at every position and depth is still a huge issue....a few key players going down, or having a bad year, could have a huge impact. I say we're still 2 more good classes from being at the "no excuses" level.
