Calera Viognier (2009) ($32.00)

My wine girl found me one more bottle of my favorite Viognier and one of my favorite white wines. I like it the best because it's not heavy and viscous as some Viogniers can be. It's a full-bodied wine but the fruit is bright and tangy and it has that clean, crisp finish that I prefer in a white wine.

They have to shoot these floaters. That's because everything else gets blocked. Even jump shots. You can see that they hesitate to shoot because it might be blocked. And it probably will be. 

....are not any of the numbers on my Mega Millions tickets.

They are, however, the winning numbers.

When I win the Mega Millions jackpot tonight, I'm thinking about buying a certain South Carolina lawfirm and changing my name to "Droner's Boss".  Just so you guys know.

Then I'm asking for a raise. And Fridays off.

When I win the Mega Millions I'm changing my board name to "404 Not Found".

I assume you charge a higher rate on short weeks?

I hear that Jon Gruden is in town doing a clinic. 

He's a great talent but he brings too much drama. Also, I didn't like his antics on the field last year every time he made a play. Many times I expected him to get a flag for taunting.

My house in Nashville is being sold to a vet who is getting a VA loan. It is taking for blooming ever so I have the following questions.
1) How long does it typically take to get an appraisal back?
2) Can any further changes be ordered to the house for said appraisal (it should easily appraise out)?
3) Do minor home inspection finds (additional caulk, exterior touch-up paint) have to be repaired or are they negotiaable?

Many thanks for your help. This has turned into a big enough pain I'd probably never sell to someone with one again. The vast majority of males in my family are vets so while I'd love to sell to a vet the VA makes it too much of a hassle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 

Everything is taking longer these days. It's a result of the great financial crisis of 2007-2012.  6 years ago you could close a deal within 45 days of signing the contract. Now it can take months. Appraisals used to be ordered by the lender from local guys they frequently used. That too has changed although it's swinging back to some sort of sanity. But don't be surprised if the appraiser isn't from the area.

The answers to questions 2 and 3 depend on what's in your contract. If you agreed to pay for repairs (hopefully with a dollar limit), you'll have to make them. Your contract probably says that if you don't want to exceed the limit then the buyer can back out. The problem is that if you agreed to let the buyer go VA, then you agreed to meet their guidelines and requirements. That means you will have to make repairs that they specify. Hopefully your contract has a dollar limit.

In normal contracts, the seller says that he will make repairs up to a certain dollar amount. It also says that if the repairs are more, you can (1)agree, (2)refuse and the buyer agrees to make them above that limit or (3) you don't agree to make them and the purchaser refuses to pay for them and the contract is void.

As for negotiating anything, if you have already signed the contract, your negotiating is mostly over. VA is tough. They have strict rules on what the buyer can do and what the buyer can pay for. You might even see some closing costs on your side of the closing statement that you didn't know you had to pay for.

I'll be rooting for Baylor for sure, but if UK wins that game, they'll get Louisville in the F4.  How sweet would it be if Pitino knocks them out?

Louisville beating Kentucky in the Final Four would be too much for the UK fans to endure. It would be absolutely crushing.

One can only hope. 

Of course, UK just reloads their pro team and we are left with only the hope for the same thing next year.

Pride Mountain Vineyards Viognier (2010)($38.00)

This is a big, full-bodied wine. 50% is fermented and aged in oak and 50% in stainless steel. The result is a wine that has lots of smooth fruit, a little spice that's typical of Viognier and a nice bite of acidity on the end. An excellent wine but a little pricey.

I will not be leaving the office early today. There are sheep to be sheared clients to see and money to fleece from them help to be given to them. And it's raining anyway.

What the hell is wrong with you?  The game had been over for a good 30 seconds before you posted that.  You're slipping.

They switched to the Ark/A&M game and I had to follow the scoreboard at the top of the screen. The game clock kept stopping and then they took the score off the screen. Danged ESPN.

The zombies seem to be walking faster these days, also. Andrea was running through the woods but couldn't seem to gain any ground on those things.

I just can't imagine what would motivate a person to do such a thing based on football. Especially NFL football.

Quite frankly, I've never understood fanaticism for pro teams in any sport unless you live in (or are from) the city or state or even general area in which the team is located. Vicarious pleasure from the success of others.
