1  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: On paper does UGa have a lot more talent than the Vols? on: September 11, 2025, 06:16:53 EDT
And set the edge--we have given up several "bounce outs" by the DE crashing down and no LB or DB filling.

The major question is....can we stop the damn TE they've killed us with for the past decade plus? Specifically the flipping seam route.
2  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: RIP Steve Kiner on: April 25, 2025, 02:45:41 EDT
My era.
For us old guys:

Frank Emmanuel, Paul Naumoff, Tom Fischer
Hacksaw, Kiner, Jackie Walker

Not another trio like that until Al, Raynoch, Emo

And none since.
3  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: It's official...Tennessee is moving on from Nico on: April 12, 2025, 06:16:17 EDT
May be the best decision JH has made. Goodbye and good riddance. Maybe Nico will live to his hype somewhere, but he was mediocre here. Aloha!
4  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: And... we got screwed... shocking on: December 04, 2024, 08:02:25 EST
If that is true, then the two conf losers will have to be slotted into the SMU and Boise slots, which would also affect the overall slots.  I will wait for Sunday to see how it all shakes out

The committee chair stated that teams not playing would not change in ranking.  So no way we could pass OSU.
5  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Stats Georgia game. on: November 17, 2024, 08:23:50 EST
No sacks, no real pressure at all
Nico is more Milton-like than Hooker-like in accuracy right now
We got out-schemed
6  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Heupel just said Nico will be fine for UGA... on: November 10, 2024, 05:16:08 EST
Left arm not swinging naturally, could be shoulder--or, could be nothing-if we don't know, Georgia don't know.

7  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: UTs offensive line. on: October 14, 2024, 03:43:17 EDT
If matadors could hold
What?s interesting is that they seem to be pretty good at run blocking.  Sampson leads the SEC in rushing.  But pass blocking?  They?re like a bunch of matadors out there.
8  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: OU line has moved drastically on: September 17, 2024, 04:40:27 EDT
I think we are a good football team--but we have nothing yet to tell us if we are pretty good or damn good.  N C State is not a good team, so I view all 3 games as not testing us.  I am nervous, but feel OK because I think Oklahoma is only a pretty good team at best, but certainly our first test.  We should know a lot more about us after this game.
9  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Prove to me you have lived in Tennessee on: April 27, 2024, 10:28:04 EDT
Ain't that right Miz Mull.

That's right, J. Bazzel
10  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: I sort of feel sorry for some of the non-conference teams.... on: April 20, 2024, 05:37:00 EDT
Bellarmine men's hoops had 4 D2 final fours and a D2 championship. All around solid athletic programs. Big jump from D2 to D1.
11  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: I tell you what, unless they are playing the Lady Vols I am going on: March 16, 2024, 05:28:54 EDT
pete might have averaged 60 and put up 6000 with 3 point line.
It really is apples to oranges....shot clock, 3pt shot, etc.
12  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: I tell you what, unless they are playing the Lady Vols I am going on: March 14, 2024, 05:41:19 EDT
Caitlin Clark is the female Larry Bird.  I very seldom watch a ladie's game other than UT or U of L, but I will watch Iowa State just to see her make NBA 3's.  The record is the record.  I know Pete did it in 3 years, Jim Brown played 12 games, Babe Ruth played 154 games.  But asterisks are for statisticians, a record is a record.
13  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The over/under was 61, so it was a push on: October 01, 2023, 10:11:21 EDT
Oh, they've got a finger in that pie elbow deep.  Each sportsbook who wanted to play was required to directly partner with one of the KY tracks.

.
The Horse people in KY finally allowed online gambling
14  Sports / VTTW Message Board / This concerns me.... on: September 14, 2023, 11:21:43 EDT
Milton is just 2 of 11 this season on passes that have traveled more than 15 yards past the line of scrimmage, according to TruMedia. Of his 42 completions, 28 have come at or behind the line of scrimmage.

BUT, I have a feeling have been pure vanilla and that we will open it up this week.
15  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So apparently Vol fans & Titans fans have been arguing on X on: September 06, 2023, 04:49:34 EDT
Louisville now, but grew up in Maryville/Greenback/Vonore/Friendsville and went to UT, so I am about as Tennessee as it gets. As a Louisville transplant, I have a special hatred for all things UK.  I want to beat bama and UF, but for me, THE game is UK. And other than Calipari, Will Levis is the shining example of low-class arrogance with far less talent than he and the brainwashed claim.  All you heard all year from UK fans was "#1 pick."  Pretty good tumble from #1 pick to 4th QB picked, and well-deserved.  I don't have anything against the Titans, but if Levis is playing--I'm agin um.

I guess you never saw Peyton Manning play against Florida   Levis was highly rated in ALL draft projections. The Titans have drafted/signed several former UT players. Nevertheless, Ryan Tannehill is the starter this year. Malik Willis or Levis will be cut at some point, or maybe both will if neither develops.  But aren't you in Louisville? If so you don't count!   I guess I'm just a Tennessee dude across the board   except the politics, not the politics

Did not like the orange shoulders then--don't like them now.  Helmets are cool though.
17  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So apparently Vol fans & Titans fans have been arguing on X on: September 06, 2023, 12:20:34 EDT
I could never respect, much less support, any team that drafted Will Levis.  'Nuff said.
18  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: LSU getting embeauraexed on: September 04, 2023, 06:13:44 EDT
And Kelly said they would "beat the heck out of FSU."  Most coaches would light up a player providing bulletin board material, but Kelly just joins in.
19  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: LSU getting embeauraexed on: September 04, 2023, 06:03:20 EDT
This may hurt Kelly's COY and Jayden Daniel's Heisman campaign
20  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Finished going through last season on my DVR, some observations on: September 01, 2023, 11:39:15 EDT
One issue from Clemson game concerns me--we punted 8 times--I am confident we can score in bunches, but we need to stay on the field and convert third downs.  8 punts is a bunch.

I was very impressed that you could post in multiple languages.

Welcome to the ranks.  I retired on the exact day I turned 59.5, so I am now an experienced retiree.  Turns out I am really good at it.  Enjoy!

TRO, droner, Phil, MTV and others on the RETIRED list!

24  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Charlotte Hornets fans are unhappy about their pick of Brandon Miller..... on: June 23, 2023, 07:24:13 EDT
They have a different, yet applicable, interpretation of Nate Oats "wrong spot at the wrong  time."
25  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: I see that the PGA finally showed it true hypocritical colors. I snicker on: June 07, 2023, 04:33:43 EDT
As Doc Holliday said of Johnny Ringo, "I'm afraid the strain was more than he could bear."  I am not a fan of LIV, but am less a fan of monopolies that take on the role of dictator.  The PGA has reaped what it sowed.
