Updated Banks SEC defensive stats through yesterday.
14th of 16 in opponent's total offense.
15th of 16 in scoring defense.
16 of 16 in pass defense.
Charles Barkely says that's turrible. Truth is, we have played a lot of good offenses, but bama was able to hold uga to 21 in Athens. Syracuse and UAB are not great teams overall, but they both have good QBs (had in Syracuses case, he is currently out). But if we had played worse offenses, I am not sure being 12th/13th in those categories is really any better. Whatever else you say about Banks, our D has usually improved as the season wears on. I think one season was the exception, but its generally been true. Hope it is this year!

My favorite play of the game, and maybe top ten ever, at least for defense. Coming right after the fake punt after it did, it was so satisfying. I may have screamed a few profantities about MSU immediately following that play. Okay, a lot of profanities.

..to go on defense if you win the coin toss in OT, but I wonder if MSU is regretting that decision. We got to play it on the end of the field where our fans were, and there were a ton of us. The noise clearly impacted them at the LOS.
Saw on their board that someone questioned why they playted the OT on our end Simple anser is they had no choice in the matter Once they won the toss, we got to choose the end of the field Yes. BDV is saying maybe they should have taken the ball first and picked the end zone instead. That would be against all conventional wisdom though, I cant see a team ever doing that, the advantage of going second is too great.

Update, the Tennessee highlights package has it clearly It was Eason that was injured, right ankle It was Farooq that tumbled into him Also, it WAS Carter who left his man (TE Traore) to get in front of the WR, Evans to tip the ball Farooq was coming hard up behind Evans and ended up rolling into Eason I believe that Spillman was supposed to cover the zone that Evans ran into but Spillman turned his away and lost him Just a heads up athletic play by Carter to win the game BTW, Redmond had excellent coverage on their WR on the defense right side Yes it was a great tip. I'll have to let the guy know. But was it Arion or Boo?

Yeah Heupel shat the bed on time management. Not only did we run off too much time with a bit over a minute left, but after the last first down we should have callled timeout with 13 seconds left, would have saved some precious time. Just glad the Catholic official saved us in OT (Bishop )

A bama fan friend at church this am stated that Vols " are lucky the WR dropped the ball". I didn't get a great look at the play, but an announcer said a DB deflected it. I need to watch it also

Against terrible opponents and cocks with QB out. We will find out in a hurry Saturday in Tuscaloosa how good they are. Its a win win. Either vandy is exposed or bammer loses

So he'll work for free? Or does he donate part of his past raises back to the University for the privilege of working at UT?

Got a feeling Bruce will be doing some of the coaching behind the scenes.. Of course rumors have started that he's moving back to Knoxville to prep taking over for Barnes who will be retiring after this season. It's like Gruden....it never ends. lol...that would never happen. Hes kinda sleazy at the end of the day...he wasn't let go just for a BBQ, and his later behavior at Auburn proves it, but .... he is a helluva coach, no question.

Merklinger is another Nico....can't process quick enough resulting in holding ball too long or throwing to his first read whether he's open or not. Its still early. I haven't seen enough of him to make a final judgement. But I've seen even less of MacIntyre
