Helluva talent, but he wouldn’t be the first one to waste it. Lotta parallels with James Banks.

i agree. But at least we were within a game of going to the SECC two years ago and were highly favored last year. We never sniffed anything of the sort under Dooley, his best SEC record was 3-5.
Granted, Butch's best SEC record was 5-3 and that's still not great, and there is still quite a ways to go.
This year is particularly vexing because we should have won at least one of Kentucky, USC, Florida.
You speak of the East being down. Georgia is not down in any sense, and UK and Junior are much better than they used to be.
But I agree that we should have some SEC wins at this point in the season. No question.
We suck. I'm surprised there's anything to debate.

I wouldn't have agreed with you until this past weekend. I'm not sure Guarantano is the guy but I will be ticked if he doesn't get meaningful snaps this week.
First and goal at the one foot line, and he throws what could easily have been a pick-6. Certainly wasn't his only mistake, but that's catastrophic enough to warrant giving Guarantano a serious look. You just don't do that. Terrible play call, but the execution is wide open TD or a wasted down throwaway. Nothing in-between.

The Gators DO suck on offense. No doubt about it. It was a hapless offense last year and is even moreso this year.
OTOH, there's no doubt that Michigan's D is extremely well-coached — much moreso than ours, certainly. I'm not convinced that we CAN hold their offense in check, but if they run wild on us, I still hold to what I said earlier: Shoop should be left on the tarmac.
If we line up a yard off the ball on D, he should be left on the tarmac.

Yes the topic shifted. Still not convinced USC e is the new "Urban coached Florida". Instead I predict more of "Muschamp coached Florida", because Mizzou literally has one of the worst defenses in the NCAA. Let them show some offense against a team that didn't surrender 43 on it's home field to an FCS school, and THEN I will worry that USC e is now "fun and gun north" (to reference another old Florida and actually USC e coach. Whose offense at USC e was not nearly like his old one).
Gee, you think there's any middle ground between "definitely delusional" about winning the SECe and "the new 'Urban coached Florida'"? I just don't see their chances as being that much lower than ours, nor do I see the point in saying their delusional.

Well they haven't beaten us yet.... If you are referring to their narrow win over our injury-riddled team in a game where our starting RB refused to play, then I'll point out that was last season when they had a losing record and in spite of beating us were considered a bad team. The topic in this thread is "does their recent win over Mizzou mean anything for their chances this year". I say not just no, but hell no. Actually, the topic is (was) "Too bad the dawgies won". It's at the top of the thread. The win over Mizzou was an unrelated shift that falsely assumed that was the reason for Cock fans' optimism. A slightly deeper inspection reveals their optimism to be based on having a promising young quarterback to complement a defensive-minded coach. Given the performance of our defense, and the history of our coach, I'd give them as much reason for optimism as we have.

I see some potential for violence there. Because you KNOW some #badword# is going to take a CSA flag to Berkeley, and you KNOW some antifa #badword# is going to physically attack them. I'm not sure Berkeley antifa are aware that they have a football team.

The only fans that would be delusional would be Vandy, KY or Missouri. Any of the remaining have a legitimate shot at being dog-whupped by Alabama in Atlanta.
