Having had a similar hamsting injury, he will prbably be on inured reserve till the UGA game, not counting the time for the tendon reattachment.

Yep, tore the tendon away from the bone and tore each of the muscles in the hamstring muscle group. Consultation with surgeon tomorrow (today) now. When I decide to do something, apparently I do it all the way! ;-)

Sounds like he will not be at UT vs anybody anytime soon....that is a very painful injury and I will be praying for his total recovery.

Didn't the conference very recently say "NO!" to expansion?  I want them to join the conference, but when someone refused my entry I'd think twice before asking again to be admitted.  Not sure what to think about this.

The SEC was doing nothing but following the pattern in that aTm had to tell the Big 12 they were officially withdrawing from the conference.  That is why the SEC said "not at this moment" at the time.  The SEC really wants aTm but wanted it done "by the book"

I will be in Tuscalooserville by the Pachyderm (wink wink had to stick that in doncha know) and I will have some more news about this from a good source of a great tailgate before the UT / Bama game on the 22nd of October so all is not lost and I will not have to FedEx a thing.

In the case of Bruce, I am pretty sure there was worse stuff that probably just could not be proven.  We are IMO very fortunate to get off this lightly.

Time to pay the piper and reveal something you know or is it all speculation?  If it is speculation then it is time to just let it go.  Sitting where I am right now there are no "sleeping dogs" with this one from all of the people I have talked with over in the AD.

I have lots of friends with ties into the Lady Vols program and they are organizing a support Pat day for Friday.  Support Pat Summit and her fight with this deadly opponent by wearing Orange tomorrow in a show of solidarity behind the icon that is women's basketball.  Show your suport of Pat and her meaning to you as a Volunteer fan by wearing your orange.....

The Swamp Rat Dewey Warren was great one, too. As I've already said to Emeril, Curt Watson was a truly great short yardage back. Tough as nails. A few names from my Crimson memory of the some of the first Vols I remember: Steve Kiner, Paul Naumoff (I had to look up the spelling) Lester McClain, Jackie Walker, and Bobby Majors.

One of my favorite memories when I was a young whipper snapper was of working out on a hot saturday in late September and listening to John Ward call the game with Auburn.  My mom and dad had bought a piece of property (about 20 acres) of an old farm place that had been in this family's hands for many years and then they sold it to my Mom and Dad.  Well it had grown up quite a bit and there was enough sumac on this property to create a sumac pile twenty feet tall.  I must have cut out enough of that stuff over that fall to give me Hulk arms.  We would work all day Saturday on clearing the land so we could get the house started the next year.  Dad was adamant that he had two kids so he did not need some big ole piee of heavy machinery to clear the land just his two kids.

Well I was listening to John Ward (early 70s timeframe) and he was describing Curt Watson going through the line to get a crucial third down conversion.  It was similar to "Scott turns and hands the ball off the the Crossville Comet and Watson is penetrating the line behind the blocking of Kell.  (as an aside look up Chip Kell's weight - it was 265 and he was the center) They push the pile and yes Curtis Watson has achieved another first down for The Big Orange"

                    I have been married for almost three weeks. My wife has been accepted to UT to get a Master's in Speech Language Pathology! We have one year for me to find a job because she is set to enroll in school in Fall 2012. I have a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, and I am a registered Engineer Intern with the State of TN. We both want this and we are praying very hard. I have work for almost 3 years for a really prestigious engineering firm in Memphis. Do any of you have any connections? I am a hard worker, and I have been involved with several TDOT projects. As for now I am searching online very hard. I have driven all the way to Knoxville several weekends to scope things out. Please help with any advice. I want to be able get my wife through school at my favorite university, and check-in every Saturday at the best place in the world to watch a football game. Can you help?

You know if there is a person out there that thinks Pat Summit is not a great coach and individual like some of the haters I have read in comments on some of the stories out there in cyberland I think they need to just STFU.  Pat is a great coach regardless of her coaching men or women and if all those haters want to be happy she has this I suggest they go to a nursing home and just see what this disease does to those that have it.....then write your hate filled bunch of BSand all of the haters can KMEGM!!

What's the background? Family were UT fans? You're an alumnus? Pushed into it by friends? And who was your first UT hero?

For me, I grew up in Alabama around my Dad's side of the family, 99.9% of which were rabid, mentally deranged bammer fans. A few of them even talked to the Bahr on a regular basis.  They tried to get me on their side. They took me to the Bahr's gravesite the day after he was buried and made me pay homage to him while they beat their chests and wailed uncontrollably.  They were fizzleing crazy.

I became an Auburn fan just to piss them off.  And one Vincent Bo Jackson became my first Auburn hero when he went over the top to beat those nasty rednecks. I was true Orange and Blue from 1983 on (my family moved to Alabama from Florida just before this). 

I always find it interesting how people chose sides and teams.

I am a UT Fan cause my Dad brought me up right and introduced me to the ghosts of Vols past...from Neyland to George Cafego and the boys to Peyton Manning and Tee Martin to today's future stars I have always wanted to emulate a certain RB ffrom Crossville TN who was my first hero in Orange to a large degree.  Yes I am speaking of the Crossville Comet Mr Curt Watson.  I have met Curt (I went to high school with his sister) and always thought Curt was the best fullback/rb for short yardages that has ever played at UT.  He got behind Chip Kell and got you that yard when you needed it.
