Exactly....Penn State beat them last year then won the Big 10 championship and OSU goes not even playing in the Big 10 championship game.

Gruden's last college job was the TE coach at Pacific in 1989......Before that he was at Southeast Missouri State for the 1988 season and in 1986-87 he was a GA at Tennessee. So it's been 28 years since he was a college coach at Pacific. He last coached in the NFL in 2008.

More weirdness with injuries under Butch Jones.  There are repeated instances of players playing hurt and being less effective.  Marquez North comes to mind.  Very strange.  Was his inability to throw downfield against uga due to a shoulder injury, and if so should he have been playing?   

I've read......This issue goes back to preseason camp. Have no idea if true...but on the surface I've not seen him get hurt in a game and it wouldn't surprise me that he started the season because we didn't have a choice and they knew Gitmo wasn't ready.

I'll wait until a UT official makes the announcement before I get giddy. The trolls have been out in full force for 2 weeks now. I don't think you offer a coach when you have a coach....Auburn found that out with the Petrino cluster while Tubberville was at Auburn.. Gruden and Butch are pretty close and I see no way anything is being done unless Butch is ok with it which I doubt. I find it funny that all these 'Insiders' come out during coaching searches but not one 'Insider' could tell us who the starting QB was going to be 3 days before the first game.

Have to agree.  In the first two years this was not true, but that was because Butch had no choice but to play younger players ( a fact he endlessly reminded everyone of).  I guess if not forced, he will stick with the underperforming starters.   

Having said that Kelly should definitely be the starter.   I only question that Fils-Aime doesn't come off the bench more.  I guess we will see what he does Saturday.

Fils-Aime has been battling some sort of injury the past few weeks.....I've never seen a team with so many injuries. Soft.

Notice how when certain players can't play we have players have good game and we wonder why the frick we haven't seen them play more? (tm Butch Jones). Hurd's butt was left at home for the A&M game and Kamara and Kelly went wild. Kamara was the most wasted talent I've ever seen wear the Orange. 

With so many suspended I'm not sure it matters. We can't throw the ball and thought this was going to be a heavy run game and now our best RB is out. My gosh can it get any worse.

Good info.....I was on the staff at OM for a while in the 70's under Cooper. Nice person and a better coach than his record. 77 season we had some Butch Jones close losses. Beat Notre Dame giving them their only loss...they finished 11-1 that year. Beat UT like a drum...Be hard to say which UT team...the 1977 or the 2017 team would beat the other.

IMO he is a good coach....He's been handicapped with little talent on offense that was left by a defensive coach Muschamp. He's recruited on offense better than you think the past couple of years. I like him and he's no nonsense and doesn't use excuses like..... well nevermind. If Grier hadn't screwed up they would have been better than they have...Like us this year he's had QB issues the past 2 years.

Wish him nothing but the best! 2 years ago I thought he was going to be special...he had that attitude you want in a O lineman. Looks like his medical issues didn't let that happen.

I'll continue to go to the home games because it's something that Dad and I share together, but I can say I'm much more emotionally detached lately.  I don't agonize over losses like I used to.  I can't remember a time where I cared less about the outcome of a game than I was this past Saturday.

Good for you! I'm a UT fan because my Dad made me one 63 years ago. He passed away August of 2015 and that first season after that was really tough on me with him not being here. For as long as you can share it with your Dad.

I'll put it this way.....I enjoy UTs open dates so I can enjoy good...well coached football games. I enjoy the 11am central UT games so I can get it over with early in the day and do something else or watch good...well coached games the rest of the day and night.

I told my wife Sat. night that I've never in my 63 years been this close to just not caring anymore about UT football and I really meant it. Even back in the Dooley years we at least scored points...we might get beat 42-33 but we scored points. Now we can't score and we can't stop anybody on defense. All around this is as bad as I've seen. And I've seen some bad football in my years.

Might not be correct....but the last time I remember being dogs to KY was in the 70's. I think in 1977 they finished 10-1 and they were favorites over us when we played.

All of Butch's practice players are sure stinking it up on Saturday. These are just my thoughts: Jones will play only the players that do well in practice because he can "trust" them. JMO but I do not think Butch has a clue about who the best players are by position. If the coach does not trust his players, how the H&%$ do you expect the players to trust you? I think the players realize Butch does not possess the talent to coach them any farther or the actually coach them up to improve their skills.

Once you talk back at Butch, you are forever on his list.
