He's a first class prick...But if we had a player like him we'd been in Dance along time ago and not hoping and begging for a spot.
7002  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So who is Your pre-NCAA Tournament favorite to win it all? on: March 17, 2013, 11:23:39 EDT
Indy....Louisville...Miami
7003  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: We're going to sweat it out on: March 17, 2013, 11:22:17 EDT
"but we could very well get screwed."

^When it's UT...it's meant to be ^this way
7004  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Wow,Miami came out of nowhere to become a powerhouse on: March 17, 2013, 09:38:07 EDT
Yep....they are freaking 60 miles from Cuba and have their program in a good place. We can't win 2 games when fighting for our NCAA lives. Crap!
7005  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: We're going to sweat it out on: March 17, 2013, 09:34:48 EDT
IMO after Ole Miss won 2 games in the SECT they were already in. If they take 3 SEC teams we were out anyway...if they take 4 it will between us and KY, which most likey leaves us out anyhow.

I give Ole Miss credit..they were fighting for their NCAA lives and got it done. We were too and Choked as usual. Can only blame ourselves.
7006  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Dearest Lawn Geeks... on: March 17, 2013, 05:36:48 EDT
Voles are a pain in the AZZ....I've had some but not like moles......Voles will eat bird seed too. We got several feeders and I watched a vole one day pop his head out of a hole like a gopher...run to the seed that was on the ground and then run back to his hole. Watched him do that time after time.

They love fruit trees too... To them its like us loving a good steak.
7007  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Dearest Lawn Geeks... on: March 17, 2013, 02:44:33 EDT
I am a mole expert I have 32 kills in the past 4/5 years. I actually watch them work....stick a shovel behind them so they can't retreat...pop them suckers out of the ground and kill-em graveyard dead!! This is my most effective way of getting rid of those gosh-dang things. They usually work in the mornings here....8 till 10 and then around lunch.

If you don't want to go the Rambo route then your next bet is to get rid of the food source....They eat grubs and worms...get rid of those and they will leave. Best way for this is to either spray yourself or hire a lawn company to do it...As long as there is food they will stay.

Also....Lowes and Home Depot has a mole repellant that you attach to your garden hose....spray your yard with it.....They DO NOT like the smell and will disappear quicker than our defense did in the 2nd half last season. It soaks into the ground...I've used it and it works...need to spray about every 2/3 months. One sprayer goes a pretty long way based on the size of your yard.

Been fighting these dudes for several years....so far I'm winning!!
7008  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Donte Stallworth was injured in a hot air balloon accident on: March 17, 2013, 02:20:27 EDT
Now, Phil - I know for a fact that you are so full of hot air that you don't even need a balloon to fly.

That's 100% true Dad.....but even so my ass never leaves the ground!!
7009  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Donte Stallworth was injured in a hot air balloon accident on: March 17, 2013, 12:31:17 EDT
Man..hope he will be alright!!

Had a chance to go up in one of those several years ago and said no thanks!!! I've flown all over the world numerous times but I AIN'T getten in a hot air balloon.
7010  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: FL wins...guys we can still get in on: March 16, 2013, 11:46:26 EDT
Agree with KY getting in. Just don't see us getting in over them.

If they take 4 from the SEC...IMO it will be Florida, Mizzou, Ole Miss and KY. Ole Miss winning 2 didn't help. Us losing to Bama was huge....and stinking it up doing it too.
7011  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Anyone on VTTW interested in a house? on: March 16, 2013, 03:53:55 EDT
Does the "Orange Dog' come with the house?
7012  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: I hate Alabama right now. on: March 16, 2013, 03:49:13 EDT
Put me in the 60 year hate column....and it gets worse every year.
7013  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: With all the NCAA talk here is my .02 on: March 11, 2013, 06:06:32 EDT
Plus add to the fact Maryland got beat by UVA and they were 9th on the list of first teams out IIRC....MTSU got upset and they are 28-5 with a 27th ranked RPI. IMO it's going to be hard to leave MTSU out even with their sorry SOS.

Things like this happen every year where a few teams upset the apple cart, so being on the bad side of the bubble like we are all you can do is win games.
7014  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: With all the NCAA talk here is my .02 on: March 11, 2013, 05:32:55 EDT
IMO right now we aren't in.....Got to win 1 maybe 2 in the SECT.....And with our history in the SECT that's not a given.
7015  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Texas A&M beat Kentucky 75-67 in the SEC Womens basketball Championship on: March 11, 2013, 04:30:43 EDT
Someone needs to tell A&M this is by-gosh the SEC....you don't just go to Bama and beat em.....Go to Corrupt Arena and beat Cal-A-Cheater and Kensucky...and then win the womens SEC tourny all in the same school year

Good win by the lady A&Mers..
7016  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: One of the play-in teams has been decided..... on: March 11, 2013, 02:17:15 EDT
IMO it's total 100% bullcrap for a conference tourny winner like this to get an automatic NCAA bid..It knocks teams that are way more deserving out. It happens every year.
7017  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Todd Kelly Jr. is VFL on: March 11, 2013, 02:11:49 EDT
Now that he has committed to Vols, will Rivals and Scout de-rate him to two or three stars?

Exactly!!!....If he committed to Bama, LSU, tOSU they would give him 7 stars...

Great get.....hope this gets the ball (recruits) rolling downhill!!
7018  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Bring on Baseball,I'm ready for MLB! on: March 11, 2013, 02:08:09 EDT
FWI to any Baseball fan reading this now: ESPN special just started about the great Roberto Clemente, "The Clemente Effect." I'm recording that baby now.

Good show....saw him play many times in person....You will enjoy it!
7019  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: In keeping with the beginning of spring practice mood around here... on: March 10, 2013, 07:47:29 EDT
OSU's schedule is laughable....only game they might get tested is Mich. They have a cakewalk to the BCS.

7021  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Bring on Baseball,I'm ready for MLB! on: March 10, 2013, 06:13:32 EDT
I started going to St. Louis Cards games in the 50's at Sportsman Park....Grew up with a bat in my hand and grew up in a era that when you weren't playing an organized game you were playing a sandlot game from morning till dark. Some of the worst fights I ever got into were over a safe/out call playing sandlot games
I played in HS and college and lived for the game.

But in the last 15 years or so I just can't get into watching baseball on TV....I still watch my Cards some..every game is shown here in West Tn. and I'll watch about a third of them...There was a day I would have been glued to the TV watching them..

Baseball to me now is boring....changing pitchers for a left hand batter...then changing for a right handed batter...then a middle reliever...then a closer...etc..etc...etc...Good gosh give me the days of Bob Gibson when a pitching coach or manager was too scared to go out to the mound for fear of being cuss out for even thinking about taking a starting pitcher out if he was still battling and still had his team in the game...It drives me fooking crazy!!

And IMO the season is way too long...starts in the Winter with Spring training games and goes to darn near Thanksgiving...Good grief!!

7022  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: What's your favorite Western movie? on: March 02, 2013, 08:10:38 EST
Ooh, yeah.  Forgot about that one.  Great flick.

That's one of those movies that if you come across it channel surfing you watch again....I've seen it several times..but if I were to come across it today I'd watch it again..

There are several movies that I do the same...see em a 100 times but I'll watch again.
7023  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Need some more info about the area around the Alvin York park area. on: March 02, 2013, 07:10:10 EST
The terrain/vegetation here just doesn't support deer numbers like you see in Middle/West TN and the East TN valley. With the exception of the mountains of East TN, the northern Cumberland Plateau is probably the poorest deer area in the state. But the deer numbers do seem to have declined in the BSF, and no one really has a good answer as to why. Some of it again is terrain/vegetation, which is poorer (for deer) in and around the gorge than in other areas of the plateau. But there just aren't as many deer there now as there used to be.

There aren't nearly as many wild boar, either, but we know why that was...the NPS contracted trappers and shooters to take them out. There are very few hogs in the park now.

I've seen more deer here in my area of W. Tn in the last 6 months than I can remember in a long time. They just opened this week a new 2 mile connecter road they build through the woods....really nice 2 mile drive with hills creeks etc...I drove it this morning for the first time and saw no less than 15 deer in that 2 miles....Had to slow down at one point to almost a stop to let 5 cross the road 75 feet in front of me.

I can go within 10 blocks of my house in any direction and see 10-30 every afternoon. Cotton, wheat and corn fields all around me and they come out between 4-6 to feed.

This area I live has all been developed in the last 10-20 years....I had a deer hunter friend of mine tell me that at one time this area I live in had more deer per square mile than any place in Tn. West of the Tennessee river.

7025  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Those big pictures of heads students hold up at bball games on: February 27, 2013, 11:48:33 EST
Thanks for posting....It seems it has become more and more popular. While a player is shooting a free throw I'm looking more at the signs than the game.

On the note of signs....back in the 70's and even 80's there was a dude that was at sporting events (I think he got started at golf events) that held up a sign with John 3:16 on it. That guy could always find the perfect spot to get his sign on TV. I've always wondered how he could get into so many sporting events all across the country..He could be in San Diego one day and 2 days later be in Miami.
