My initial impression: it’s beautiful. It finally LOOKS like an upper-echelon SEC stadium. That said, I don’t think it’s big enough. In its current form, it seats around 4500 with the overflow seating down the 3rd base line. And we could’ve easily sold twice that this year, especially for SEC games (and keep in mind, our home slate wasn’t great this year. Imagine years when we have Vandy, LSU, Arky, tx, MSU, UF, etc coming to town). Was this year an outlier, or is it the new normal? As long as CTV is around, I think it’s the latter. This looks like it keeps the current configuration, adding some premium seating around the top, making the overflow seating into permanent grandstands, and expanding the “party porch” in LF. So MAYBE a net gain of 1000 seats? I don’t think that’s going to cut it. It says these plans are subject to change based on demand. I think they’ll have to find room for more “non-premium” seating.
