...but would we be better off finishing 5th or lower, thus NOT getting a bye in the SECT, and drawing an easier opening opponent?  It seems we need every win we can get at this point.

This year I think so, as long as you get the 5 or 6. The bottom of the SEC is far softer than the middle. While a win over the 11th-14th SEC teams doesn't help our case much, it's better than 1-and-done in the SECT. I hate thinking so negatively, but that tournament . . .

This is, of course, assuming we don't have to lose one of these last three to drop that far.  Say we win out and the teams in front of us hold serve.
