First, nice to meet granny and Dean before the game.  2nd, nice to do the GR with a nice cold one at hand during happy hour (2 hours to get from Autzen to Portland)
Offense:  yes they have a good defense but we don't have a good offense
QB: grade of F.  Bad reads, bad passes, bad decisions across the board.  B/U showed more poise, admittedly against their 2/3rd strings.  I a, tired of the Crompton rerun.
RB: grade C.  Ways too much bounce and dancing by both RBs.  Though to be honest Neal was playing the slot more than RB.
WR: grade D-.  Dropped balls and "interesting" routes.  The injuries at slot haver gutted our passing game.  Our best slot today was Neal.  The others ran around looking more like lost souls than receivers.  At TE we are serviceable and one deep.  To give him credit Downs was getting open but rarely could the QB get him the ball in a position tondo something with it.
OL:  grade F.  Not much running room or not much passing protection.  A line without the future pros would have gotten a passing grade but the future pros did not play like future pros.

Defense
DL: grade B.  The line played ok.  Got some pressure and sacks but not consistently.
LB:  grade F.  The backers are too slow, especially without Sapp.  I hope isn't out long.  Still looking for a LB or stay that a) recognizes there is a TE in the game and b) knows how to cover him.  The last TE TD was a linebacker cover (the backer in question was lectured all the way off the field and to the bench)
DB: grade F.  To be fair, the kids got exposed today but the safeties aren't kids.  We could to figure out the back side flare receiver vs fly receiver.  The CB was on an is
And to decide and the safeties and/or LBs didn't or couldn't help.  A TD and at least two long gains was the result.  If you are a corner and have the contain assignment the first thing you should NOT do is to take a step inside, allowing you to be blocked, again with TD/long gains the result.  If your Mike tells you, a safety, to stay home you should stay home not follow the play fake, result TD.
ST:  not observed.  Poor, poor tackling and pursuit angles.  First punt was a line drive.  One good bit of coaching, after punt #2 we kicked away from their returners.
Coaching:  disappointed.  The TE and backside issues were not corrected.  We played the backup safeties with the game on the line and when they were in they were exposed, repeatedly.  Why punt near midfield when you need multiple scores?

The above being said, hopefully Sapp isn't a long term injury and we an learn from this game and press's forward with our SEC schedule.  I think we can stop the croc offense but can we score against their defense?  Without changes I'm not sure.

It was a horrible game.  We just need to move on.

while my main beef is with the qb play, I was frankly disappointed in the coaching as well.
