It's well worth it.  It's most similar to Road Warrior though the beginning is a bit like Thunderdome.  It's basically non-stop action but the plot is pretty good and is more than enough to support the action.  I was pleasantly surprised...I was expecting a bad remake of Road Warrior but it's an all new story that can fit into the chronology (how exactly I don't know...maybe it's the fourth?).

I saw it in 3D and although not the best 3D I have seen it's worth the extra.

This might be the best of the lot actually, although I will always love Road Warrior for it's roots in the early 80s (all the punk-rock type thugs  ).

I've heard it is better than people think it is. I plan to see it.  My gripe is that Hollywood is starting to get lazy. Everything is a remake of some old show or book or comic book. I know it is because of the easy money. Not a lot of original writing or so it seems. Just saw 'Unbreakable" this weekend. Very intense movie. Great true story. Some of the effects in the Mad Max movie look great. The Jurassic World movie looks kinda cool too. But how many man-made dinosaurs on the loose movies are they gonna have? I guess Spielberg needs the money..LOL.

LOL.....I told my wife the other day that after 37 Jurassic movies maybe they will figure out it's not a real good idea to have people around those things!

agree.  What's truly bad is Marvel rebooting Spiderman and now the Fantastic Four.  I can understand Star Trek doing a reboot after what...60 years and movies by both the original cast and the Next Generation, but the original Spiderman is only about 15 years old.  That's too quick.

I was a huge Spidey and FF fan when I was a kid and the LOTR was about my favorite book.  So you can imagine the first decade of the 2000s was my alltime favorite for movies.  This remake shizzle is getting old though...they should at least wait a while!

I do recommend Mad Max though.  It's not a remake, it's another sequel, and a good one IMO.
