Fan Pool for Players?

Is there anything to keep fans from pooling money for players? Fans could kick in a few dollars/week and then vote on how the kitty should be split following the game.

If the product was good enough it could be rolled out across multiple schools, and a decent bit of interest income earned.

Additionally I'd have a tip jar running during games. The transaction fee would be the floor, but anything above that could be contributed. Good hustle play? Here's $0.25.

If everything stinks (tip jar donations would be live), then the general pool rolls to the next week.
