Karma? Payback for Butch not going for two?

When you give thanks this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, remember Billy Napier along with all of your other blessings.

Maybe I am missing something obvious *(heh, OBLIVIOUS) but what reasoning is there to go for two????????????????   Instead of down 10, you get to down 9.....How the F does that help????  The only thing I can think if is that if UT responded with a score, the lead would be 16.  But if UT did score a TD, the clock would be all but gone.  YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE last 7 minutes of the game assuming that YOU HAVE TO STOP UT from scoring if you have a chance to win.  Playing with the assumption that UT will score another TD is MIND BOGGLING to me.

Maybe I am too drunk right now to realize something more obvious.... am I????   I wasn't listening to that fizzlehead gator fan Danielson, so I don't know if they discussed this.  Blob sure didn't.

They would have STILL been down two (2) scores and as you say it cost them in the end, BIG time.

Thus my moron comment in The Game Report

Only one thing makes sense to me.  He had already decided to go for the win in the event of two TDs and a FG.  That's the only thing I can figure.

If so, then the smart thing to do is wait till the SECOND TD, when you have no choice but to go for two.  Get the 7, get the 3, get the 6 and THEN 'go for the win' (or you could reverse the TD and FG order and do it the same way).

Thus it was a stupid move no matter what...but if he had scored a TD, FG, TD and THEN gone for it, it would at least make sense (and again, reverse the last TD and FG is allowable I think).

Gotta love those G5 coaches in the SEC!!! Napier out-Butched himself!

I was trying to do the math in my head (before they failed the 1st one) and the result was significant amount of smoke, try the math on my phone and had to reboot it after the resulting TILT result
