UT currently leads the country with 40 rushing TDs (Mich and UGa with 38 and 37 respectively can still catch us). For an offense known for its over-the-top passing game, I’m guessing that’s a stat that would shock some people nationally. Especially since we did it without a superstar RB.

Our offense is actually very run-oriented, but the big pass plays tend to obscure that.

Wow. I had no idea. As I've said many times, I'm not the most astute observer, but it appears we run the same running play every time. Maybe 2. Up the middle, and right tackle. Not being negative, but we must have perfected those plays.

The 40 rush TDs tie a team record from 1951.  Of course, we played two more games than they did in 1951, but it's still impressive that the previous record dates to the single wing era.

It does appear some of the runs are pretty straightforward, but I am pretty sure they are well disguised and run from different formations.  I say that not having checked it that closely.closely
