I wonder what that trooper's other duties are? Anybody know? Just a regular trooper otherwise?

I'd bet he's not writing tickets on I-40. I suspect there may be a special detail of troopers for official duties. Could be wrong. UT definitely has the squarest jawed trooper in all of college football! Had to have been a Marine.

It may have changed, but in the past the THP guys assigned to the UT games were just regular troopers that are out writing tickets on I-40 on weekdays. The rest of the game day law enforcement inside the stadium is an eclectic mix of various agencies...even game wardens. The guy who became a meme when he caught the game-winning FG kick in the Alabama game is a friend of mine who is a wildlife officer assigned to the North Cumberland WMA.

Interesting. I always wondered. The Knoxville City officer on the sidelines has been doing the games forever it seems like. What better way to pick some extra pay, and see the game?
