Gus graduated from Rule High School around the same time as my Dad and Mom. He might have been a year ahead of Dad -- he was friends with much of my family, especially my uncle Joe Caldwell. A good man who was admired by all. |

So glad I’m old enough that I was able to experience Gus, Haywood Harris, Bill Anderson, and of course Ward. They just don’t make them like that anymore.

My voices of my youth are gone….. and it sucks. I think it is why I enjoy the folks who take the modern clips and put Ward’s voice over so much. |
