Vols are 6th behind, uga, bammer, Ole Miss, OU and Tejas, in that order.

Not sure why OU is 4th...that's a head scratcher to me.  I don't have a problem with them otherwise, though I might move Tejas ahead of Joey Freshwater's team.  I get that Ole Miss worked the portal really well, but they haven't done shizzle yet in 2024, and Tamu the last couple years offers a cautionary tale of just throwing together a bunch of talent.  I do think Freshater is a better coach than Dumbo, but I am in a "show me" attitude vis a vis how great Ole Miss really is..

I think Vols should be fifth after Tejas with OU no higher than 6th, maybe even below LSU.

Meant to add, pleasantly surprised that Mizzou is not ahead of us, and I think LSU should be ahead of them. However, if you factor in schedule Mizzou would move up quite a bit potentially. However these power rankings do not factor in schedule, so IMO Mizzou should be behind LSU.

OU, other than their OL is damn good
We both will be starting 5* QBs starting their 4th game
OU will be favored, probably by around 6.5-9.5 points over us

I get it, but they sucked the first two years under Venables, particularly the first year.  Per that review, they are "going to be very good on defense".  Really?  Last year they were 46th in the country allowing 24 points a game, while we were 22nd, allowing 20 points per game.  Why is the defense going to be "great"?  They had an easy schedule last year.

The only thing they did last year that impresses me was to beat Texas, but they are kind of like UF vs. UT, they seem to win that one no matter what (7 of the last 8).

Other than that, they had bad losses to Arizona, Kansas, and Oklahoma State.

I will say what I said about Ole Miss...I will believe OU is good when I see it, not before. Based on last year and what they have coming back, i am not impressed and think they are overated.

Mizzou might end up higher because they have a weak schedule.

Yes, I did mention that above.
