Nice pickup

Been a good weekend

Also, less than 3 weeks out from 5* OT David Sanders commitmentdate and AP seems reasonably confident

Been a very good summer so far for our VOLS!

He's a pretty good recruiter....Butch wasn't bad either as far as recruiting rankings....With the resources UT has for recruiting we need to be top 10 pretty much yearly...Heupel needs to show he can coach us to the next level....beat more of the big dogs and quit having so many stinker games...That will determine if we can keep the recruiting going.

I can?t really blame him for the SC loss.  That whole thing was just weird.  And last year? well Milton.

I think the rumors are true that Michigan shared stolen signals of both Tennessee and Clemson.  How else to explain those anomalous losses?

@Tenphil...the "stinker losses" are much fewer than under any other coach post Fulmer, and I include Kiffin in that. Unlike those other coaches, I am looking forward to this season.  For many years, I never looked forward to a season. I think the last one was 2016.

So, thinking about it, Here are the last 3 pre-Heupel seasons I actually looked forward to.  2015, 2016, and 2007.

If you are going to the next level you can't lose to the worst FL team in 25 years that had 5 wins and get the dog shizzle kicked out of you by Drink-a-Wink and Mizzou from the opening kickoff....I read last week (I haven't checked if true) that we've beaten 3 teams in the top 25 since Heupel has been here...That must change. And he also needs to show he can make adjustments...see first half vs second half against Bama last year, among others. Add in keeping a DB coach that's past time needing to be replaced.

I'm pulling as hard for Heupel as anybody.....but the jury is still way out on him, IMO.

Again, Milton.  Would you have played Lamaleava sooner?

Depends on the situation....It appears they were set on redshirting him and that's why he played in the exact games allowed to still be redshirted. If that's the case then no...save him. If you know he's a 3 and done then he wasted a season by sitting. If he was a 3 and done then yes he would have started the back half of the season for sure...Bigger question is...would you have started Milton over Hooker like Heupel did?

Milton like JG must have been one hell of a practice player. I read a report the other day that Milton has looked the best so far in New Englands camp.....That's wearing shorts and helmets and no contact however..

hahaha!  sounds very familar with Milton.  We all know what will happen when he gets to the show.  Not nearly as bad as JG, but is definitely made along those lines.

I hear you on Florida and Mizzou last year. Feel like the team quit vs. Mizzou, and on D had no answer for the RB.  Florida was awful, but we did have two starters out on the OL, and that did make a difference in the game, unfortunatley.  I think some of the play callign could have been different vs Florida last year also, and it was also a bad (first) half.  We did outplay them second half, but no excuse for that awful start.

If there is one game we dam well better win this year, its UF.  How many times in the past have we said that?  But for real, it should be very winnable in Neyland.  I think Nico vice Milton will be a big difference.

True on 2 starters being out against FL....But that should never be an excuse to lose to very bad FLA team. There was a whole lot of quit against Mizzou...from the get go. How we play on the road is concerning.

Here's the question though... If we don't play Nico... then why did we not redshirt him? We basically wasted a year of his eligibility. He rode the pine instead of getting experience. I like Heuple. He's going to turn out to be great... but that decision... not so much.

He WAS Red Shirted.  The bowl game does NOT count towards games played for RS purposes

He was redshirted, period, dot.  There were  a plethora of articles on in the prebowl period, and immediately after.
