Congrats......but. If they don't learn to hit good pitching they won't be around long. Their team batting average against SEC teams this season wasn't very good.
Having attempted to hit "radio balls" it is not as easy as you might think
Due to the shorter distance you have much shorter reaction time to read the pitch and swing
Back when I played there were essentially just two pitches, now typically there are 3-4

Dabo is trying to show HS recruits that he's building a team without transfers and he's counting on racking up with recruits. We will see how that pans out. Right now the HS recruits other than the 5 and high 4 stars are getting hurt due to the portal.

They took no transfers.

Yep. Dabo is gonna go the way of the Betamax if he doesn?t learn to adapt.

We have a nack of being real good looking or bad looking. We don't seem to have much in-between.

What do the following football teams have in common?

Army
Navy
Air Force
Clemson

If you watch/listen to Pate, you already know the answer. But if not, care to guess?

Did we throw this one on purpose? I was listeing on the radio while driving all over Knoxville yesterday (went to see Mom with my brother at her rehabe facility, then went to Dad's assisted living home and took him to see her, then took him back to his place, then back to their (sadly empty except when I or a sibling visit) house, packed up, drove back to Huntsville, all while listening to the 3 0 debacle on the radio.

I think the Vols only had 3 hits, all by the same guy.  Vandy scored early also.

Im like...WTF...I know the Vols can hit better than that.

Anyone have any theories on the loss?  I know I often hear "sometimes it just goes that way in baseball" so maybe it was just one of those days.

But could it be that Coach V wasn't trying that hard, kind of like how the bball team got embarassed in the SECT?

Side note...the baseball radio broadcast has only a broadcaster, no color guy, no sideline reporter, but does a very good job of descringin the play by play.  No chatter about strategy or "what will the coach do", etc.  In fact, I will say that might even be desireable for football and basketball. Maybe they should give it a try (Not with Kesling though!)

No, sometimes good pitching overpowers bats
It happens
However, if I were Tony, I would have had the umpires check his glove as the bois have been proven to CHEAT

.

Kay's Ice Cream with the big ice cream cone outside was a S Knoxville icon, and had been since the 50s I think, when I moved to Knoxville in 1982.  Kay's closed (sadly) during the pandemic, but the ice cream cone is still there, and there is a Thai restaurant where Kay's used to be, but it does serve ice cream of some sort.

So who won between the Louis brothers, or did they both go out of bidness?
I worked at Kays on Magnolia as a freezer boy out of High School, till I joined the AF
