Obviously there's a lot of evidence against Lance.
However, did you know that of the top 3 finishers of Lance's 7 Tour De France wins, 20 of those 21 cyclists have been linked to doping? That entire sport is a joke.
I thought it would have been better for sport to just let it go. If Armstrong was doping but able to pass all the testing, then let it be.

Monte had no clue on how to stop the spread offense that Ole Miss ran. I think Kiffin new he was gone by the time the bowl game came around. well, unless you count Ole Miss or the bowl game, but both occurred after the Pilot fiasco.
When you think about it, that incident pretty much symbolized the whole kiffin era. Over-hyped a player at the expense of pissing off pretty much the rest of the league, and that player did something really stupid and the team mailed it in a couple days later.
We had some good wins - uga and usc - but the season ended badly. I would not say the bowl game made me think our players were mentally tough at all.

If Dooley's teams had near the mental toughness of Kiffin's one team at UT, I would feel a lot better about Dooley. I am not sad that Kiffin left as I thought it was a good riddance. But, that was the one thing that really stood out to me about the 2009 VOLS. They played hard the whole game. I see a lot of people piling on Dooley in this, his 3rd season, after 4 games, in which we are 3-1 with a win over a pretty good NC state team and a loss to a FL team that looks a lot better than people thought they would in pre-season. Just FTR, I am behind Dooley right now because I have seen a lot of positives which make me optimistic for the future, and I think we have become more competitive. I also understand what he means when he says that rebuilding this team is a process. I don’t think everyone realizes the task he took on. He basically inherited a team that looked like we had been on probation for a few years.
Positives:
1 – Upgraded talent in the trenches. You look at the DL and OL, we have certainly recruited well there and continue to do so in this class. This is critical in the SEC 2 – Has not hesitated, for the most part, to jettison coaches who are not getting it done. See Chuck Smith, Heistand. I think he should get rid of Chaney as well, and may do so if he continues to abandon the run in critical times. 3 – Has improved special teams (placekicking has been a problem, but it looks like we may finally have a consistent kicker). However, we have done well at returns and covering them. 4 – Recruited well overall, considering what he has to sell vs other programs in the SEC the last 3 years. Even more impressive is that he’s kept, for the most part, the classes he has recruited. Key when you are rebuilding. We have, in his third year, a roster that is FAR more talented and deep than when he got here. 5- As far as we know, he does things the right way
Negatives: 1 – He’s done a few things that indicate he is “learning on the job”. 2 – Hasn’t beaten anyone yet that he is not supposed to. He needs to get over that hump to gain further respect in the SEC. He needs to do that this season. He’ll get his opportunities.
Most people who are ready to see him gone are premature, IMO. They have decided he isn’t a good coach already, and that’s my issue with them – they just haven’t been patient enough. They point to stats like 0-11 against ranked teams. Well of course he will have a poor record, he is rebuilding. If we get rid of him now, we lose recruiting momentum, and we once again have a new staff, and start over. Nick Saban is not walking through that door. So, my point is that he has basically coached 2 ¼ seasons. Need to see how the season plays out, and what type of class he brings in. IMO we’re headed in the right direction.

Although premature, I was thinking about what we do if a coaching change does occur at the end of the season. I like the idea of backing up a brinks truck full of money and hiring the best coach out there but I dont see a Saban or Myer type as out there for the taking.
There are some successful coaches who are consumate managers, who have the clout to recruit anywhere and can get great assistants to work for them (saban). There are others who are genius at their craft, have unique offensive systems that make them successful and is attractive to recruits (Myer or maybe kelley). Bama drug Saban back from the NFL with the brinks truck but is there anyone out there that fits that profile of surefire winner? Pete Carrol? He hasn't failed enough yet in the NFL to make a return to college. Myer and Sabin are not going anywhere. Petrino has too much baggage IMO. Who is the sure fire bet that we can simply pay and get? I dont see one. I keep hearing the Gruden thing but that is not a good choice. Gruden hates young players. He had the biggest most complicated playbood in the NFL. He likes complicated offenses and would have no patience for college players abilities. He has never recruited. He makes more money than we can pay, to work much less. Dont see it. Cower has no reason to come....he is an NFL guy. I dont see a sure thing college guy that we could pay a boatload to and be assured of results. Who we gonna get? Another young up-and-comer? That hasn't worked out too well so far. I hate the thought of it but Petrino is probably the best option as far as recruiting and system but the baggage is just too big a problem for many fans.
Who else is there?
I don't know but he needs to be a jerk, apparently.

That isn't good. Looks like he will likely sit out this weekend. Hope it's minor and heals quickly, we need him vs FL
They can fit him with a cleat with a steel shank for support. This does take a little away from speed and push, though.

That you were an orangeblooded VOL fan?? I had watched the VOLS since I was a kid but, the true turning point for me was the "Miracle at South Bend". It was a nice welcome home from Desert Storm for me!
My first game, LSU in 1975.

It's interesting that they're choosing to undergo a complete overhaul of their website every year now. That isn't a cheap venture. Anyway, I liked the old look better...but that's okay. That'll allow me to use a couple of aspects I liked from the old website in a new website I'm working on without anyone accusing me of lifting them from UTsports.com They probably had a bunch of CS grad students do it. Cheap labor.

I did my basement. It took me three years, but I was not on a timetable. My block walls were already painted with a waterproofer. I would recommend caulking any cracks in the blocks or at the base of the blocks with silicone. I then hung plastic and fastened 2x4 frames to the blocks using masonry screws. I hung the plastic so that the 2x4 frames would sit on plastic on the floor, and then trimmed the plastic along the base. Make sure you use pressure treated 2x4's for the bottom board on your frames. I wanted the 2x4 walls so the electrical outlets were internal to the walls just like the rest of my house. I then insulated with regular fiberglass insulation. I insulated some of the interior walls as well for sound suppression. I used 5/8" gypsum sheetrock board for additional sound suppression, but 1/2 would work fine as well. Unfortunately, after I had the sheetrock hung, I learned about a mold resistant sheetrock for basements. I wish I had used that, but I should be okay as my basement is pretty dry anyway. I hired the sheetrock finishing, and I would recommend that to anyone. Just make sure the finisher will clean up his mess afterward. I hired the drop ceiling out, but luckily the ceiling supply company referred me to a guy that did a great job at a great price. I hung the doors myself. I ordered cabinets myself and had a builder friend of mine help me install them. I hired most of teh plumbing out but that was not much. I forgot to mention that my brother-in-law who had worked as a certified electrician helped me wire everything. I installed engineered hardwood myself, floating on padding. I would recommend this over laminate because of moisture. The engineered hardwood will hold up to water a bit, but laminate will be ruined with any water exposure. After completing my basement, I had my gutters replaced. The company that did it reworked my guttering a bit in once spot, but that overwhelmed a drain near the outside door to my basement. This caused water to come in under the door. Luckily we were home when this happened. I had had a 4x5 tiled area installed at the door. We were able to shop-vac and absorb most of the water, but some got under the floor. We ran a fan and dehumidifier to dry it out. Except for a couple of small strips which look to have mildewed, the floor looks as if nothing had happened. I need to go back and replace those two strips and you would never know anything had happened. If you decide to go this route, make sure to leave gaps around the walls for expansion or the floor will buckle. When you install the baseboards, leave a gap for flooring to fit under for this reason. After the flooring is installed, put shoe mold or quarter round to finish off the edges. By the way, when installing sheetrock, leave a gap between the sheetrock and the floor in case you do get some water in the basement it might save your sheetrock. I ordered the factory secodns Bruce engineered hardware from Hurst hardwords on the web and saved a bunch of money. I did do some carpet but hired that out. I did all the painting myself. If you live near a supply store like Lowes, then don't sweat the quantity too much. Just start with smaller quantities and see how far it gets you.

LOL!
Yeah, it does make you wonder.
At the same time, for 10-15 years Lady NCAA Bball has been dominated by one star player, whether it was our own Chamique, that nasty-looking one that played for UConn or the transvestite that currently plays for Baylor.
So we need to get one of those (preferably one that looks like Chamique, lol).
Don't forget Candace.

How far progressed is the dementia with Pat? I thought she was still coaching and her assistants were doing most of it?
Will this be her last year? I had no idea how much it has progressed with Pat. Very, very sad.
Any updates would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Pat will retire when she decides it is time. She made the program. She has the right to decide when it is time. I have no doubt she will do the right thing.

Some folks would find fault with the 1938 Vols regular season (undefeated, untied and unscored upon). Ahem...the 38 VOLS had 16 points scored upon them, the 39 VOLS were unscored upon in the regulear season...but they lost to USC in the Rose Bowl.
