My two sons and I are driving up from Huntsville for the game tomorrow. We do not have tickets. Where is the best place to pick some up? Do you think there will be plenty available? Any other advice?
Also, where is the tailgate as we might stop by for a moment.
Thanks in advance.
I have at least 3 available Unfortunately they are not together

Sorry about the steaming delay. We are at the mercy of our internet servers.
Roger that, listened to the half time and post game shows On the 3rd TD you or I could have ran through that hole! They cleared out the right side.

Someone said the same thing on VQ the other day. And I'll respond here the same way I did there: The SEC won't offer Baylor for the same reason the Rockettes won't offer Janet Reno. Besides, why in the hell would we actually REWARD them for acting like spoiled brats, and basically extorting us? We don't need anymore welfare whores in the league. We'll continue to thrive, eventually with A&M in the fold, and they'll have to fend for themselves in the Sun Belt or worse. fizzle them. Hammer, meet nail

Yes, UT has been recruiting Dy'shawn for quite some time, now. No offer has been extended, and honestly I don't believe one will come from UT, and Dy'shawn would be better served getting away from home, in my opinion.
I expect him to end up at either Kentucky or Mississippi State. The UK running backs coach got quite a show last night. I also believe he will eventually end up at the outside linebacker position. He is a very good running back, but his closing speed from the OLB spot is the most impressive thing about his game. Mobley became the all time leading rusher at Powell a couple of weeks ago.
I thought he'd make a better LB in college. I couldn't handle your 30 second delay last night vs the TV stream. As bad as Powell played the first half, to be down only 3 was an accomplishment.

I heard a guy on the Sports Animal this morning talking about that game and Mobley. Big win for the Panthers and a stud performance from Mobley, but of course the guy complained that UT didn't seem to be recruiting him. I don't know if Mobley is SEC talent or not . . . it's hard to tell for a rank amateur observer like me. A lot of big numbers are put up by high school athletes that are not top caliber college prospects.
101 dad can confirm but I think there is some interest by UT in Mobley.

Come from behind win. About everything that could go wrong went wron for the first 2/3 of the game, except for Mobley who had two long TD runs and a 15 yard TD where not even a shadow was laid on him. 268 yards on 21 carries.
Ky RB coach was at the game.
As good as he is running the ball I think he could be a better weak side LB.
Your 2nd ranked Panthers are 4-0 with a bullet!

You got them Becky! Dean came up in conversation this last weekend and I had meant to drop you a not asking his status. A friend just went through a similar procedure. He was fortunate that A) they received the pathology report within an hour or so and B) no further digging was required. The bad was it took a long time for the wound to heal.

My thoughts on this (useless) thread issue I disagree with 101. I do not think that Denton intentionaly intends to upstage the game. The pregame ritual is one that I follow along with to this day. The third and the river statement he got in trouble for but at the time I, and probably 90% of the stadium felt was funny and accurate as heck. It made granny holtz stomp around some more and IMO that was a good thing! If a poster thinks Denton is a grandstanding stadium announcer I'd like to introduce them to several different stadium announcers in the SEC, starting with the jerk at Williams Bryce, who really is in the same league as the hobnailed boot. And it's another to the jerk on the mike! The uga and L$U stadium announcers aren't far behind. However, IMO time has passed Denton by and he should step down. He is having more and more difficulty with names and just following the game, though he is not near as bad as blob.

Well, after seeing three doctors and having the MRI reviewed by three radiologists, they agree that it's a complete tear of the tendon along with the torn muscles. So, it looks like I'll be having surgery next Wednesday and will have to use a full leg brace for several weeks after that. I'm guessing that I'm going to be on the injured reserve list for most, if not all, of the Vols football tailgating season. Maybe some of my younger family members can pick up some of the slack. I know it'll be a HUGE challenge replacing me, but.... I'm more concerned with your wife and mom picking up after YOU! Hope the surgery goes well and its a quick recovery!

This has my vote. 15 teams in 3 divisions or 16 teams in 4 divisions. Either would necessitate a 2-round playoff but I think the SEC can swing that. The only tricky part would be matching reasonable geography with power balance, but it could be done.
* With 5 team divisions, you'd have 4 division games, perhaps 2 interdivision rivalries, and 2-3 rotating games.
* With 4 team divisions, you'd have 3 division games, 2-3 interdivision rivalries, and 3-4 rotating games.
Either of those is workable and IMO would easily preserve the major rivalries in the conference. It might even accommodate bringing a couple back.
If OK (& OK St) and tejas bolt to the Pac12 (16) then I see the SEC going to 16 sooner rather than later. Most likely we pull two from the remains of the SWC (Big XX) and two from the ACC/Big Least.

Statement from Dr. Bernie Machen, Chair, Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors: After receiving unanimous written assurance from the Big 12 on September 2 that the Southeastern Conference was free to accept Texas A&M to join as a new member, the presidents and chancellors of the SEC met last night with the intention of accepting the application of Texas A&M to be the newest member of the SEC. We were notified yesterday afternoon that at least one Big 12 institution had withdrawn its previous consent and was considering legal action. The SEC has stated that to consider an institution for membership, there must be no contractual hindrances to its departure. The SEC voted unanimously to accept Texas A&M University as a member upon receiving acceptable reconfirmation that the Big 12 and its members have reaffirmed the letter dated September 2, 2011.

...But I've had about enough excitement. In the past two years (and change), we've been introduced to two new football coaches, one new basketball coach, and one new baseball coach. In 15 minutes, we'll meet a new athletic directer. And you have to think that next year, we'll be replacing the only women's basketball coach most of us have ever known. I'm ready for a little stability. Kinda boring actually

Either way, that still doesn't change things. Why review some close calls and not others? I'm just not a fan of the way replays are conducted.

Before I begin my rant, let me say that I have no clue whether the officiating crew for last night's game was an SEC crew, though I would assume they were.
Anyhow, I was pretty disappointed with the way SEC officials handled replay situations last year, and this year hasn't started off right, as far as I'm concerned.
1.) Why wasn't the safety reviewed? From my vantage point, it looked like the football broke the plane of the goal line, which is all it has to do to avoid a safety. I haven't watched a replay, so I have no idea if that was the case, but it was at least close enough for a review.
3.) Poole's dive for the pylon in the fourth quarter...again, from my vantage point, that looked like a clear touchdown. And on the jumbotron replay, it appeared to be a touchdown, too. But, again, I haven't watched the replay so I may be totally wrong. The officials DID automatically review that one. I just felt like they got it wrong.
It was an SEC crew 1) I believe that the entire ball has to be on the field of play, i.e. if any part of the ball is on the goalline it is a safety (Approved Ruling 8-5-1 I. A10, after receiving the snap in his own end zone, is downed with the ball resting on his goal line, its forward point being in the field of play. RULING: Safety. A part of the dead ball is on the ball carrier’s goal line.) 3) I thought real time he was OB and the in stadium replay seemed to bear that out. I thought it a good call.

I didn't see the game and maybe that's why I am less negative than many seem to be on the run game. We did have a decent rush total. Is it that we should look better vs Montana? Was it the avg per carry? Or did they just LOOK like shizzle? I listened on the radio
The only times we had effective runs is when we pulled Fulton and used him to lead in the hole. I was dissapointed in the left side of the line, on the safety Bullard or Thomas caved like a tent in the pregame storm. The OL as a whole seemed a bit disjointed with little or no push. Both backs tended to run too straight up, Poole has done that since he set foot on campus (I might of mentioned this once or twice ...). I liked it that Lane seemed to make a decision and went. Poole several times seemed to lack decisiveness.

who is Darr?
Our inconsistent punter - though Palardy punted as well tonight. Before the half we ran the punt team on the field with Darr as the punter, Montana called time out and then Palardy came in and punted. Darr did have a heck of a kick on the free kick.

First, it was great to meet several good friends and meet some new ones! Emeril can cook! The lamb gyros were off the charts! Charlie the cook was grilling some killer steaks as well! Met Joey Kent, looks like he could still play. The Offense: QB: tyler looked in mid season form, ran the offense well, only made one bad throw all night and got bailed by a PI (the 2nd pick that was overturned was a good throw on a seam route by the TE that was pushed in a clear PI). He made some nice throws but also put the ball on the ground once. WR: Hunter and Rogers played well. Hunter's route running has improved greatly. Rogers had a pure drop, could have been a repeat of Hunter's long TD. Zack Rogers played well, the arm injury bothered him and I think led to him putting the ball on the ground. Arnett looked lost. Dallas played but didn't do much. Our first three receivers are very good, the rest, not so much at the moment. RB: Poole put the ball on the ground twice and for the most part danced the night away, though he had a couple of nice mooves on the scamper towards the end. He also missed at least one blitz pickup. IMO Lane out played him all night. He is a decisive runner. Neal ran well the two times he got to touch the ball. OL: Disappointing. Really poor all night in my view. We could not move an inferior team off the ball all night, especially the left side. That does not give me confidence for the SEC schedule ahead of us. Also two motion penalties. They had trouble with blitz pickups all night. Gameplan: It was clear we committed to the run game, we just could not execute it. Defense: DL: Starters are good, backups, not so much. We got good pressure all night but apparently never heard of contain. The QBs got outside the rush all night. When Maggitt lined up at end he was a force off the edge. Couch looked like he was having difficulties. LB: Played a lot of night with just one. AJ Johnson was a non factor. A. Johnson played very, very well all night. There was a clear drop off when Propst was in. Vareen played well. DBs: Played a lot of DBs in a lot of looks. Coleman was out of position a few times, looked like he thought the defense was different than the one that was called on the long pass for a TD. Teague was the most consistent corner all night. Kicking game: Not much was learned on KO returns. Lane at least caught the ball and had positive return yards on punt returns. Palardy was inconsistent but had three really good kickoffs. We maintained lane discipline all night on coverage. Crowd? Out of it most of the night. Only got loud a couple of times. A victory but we have a lot to work on before we go into the swamp.

Lane is a better TBmthan Poole tonight
The left side of the OL is no breed than last year
