I also suspect that like us they become jaded, and either quit caring or figure out that it on them to make it work regardless of who the coach is.

A new coach is going to have trouble  connecting with these guys at first probably. If he does we might not lose so many because of the change. The only plus to it this time it is more of a veteran team than before.  

Charlie Strong won't have a problem connecting with them.

Well, if you whiff on Gruden, Strong, Gundy, etc, he's just as good as Fedora.

All I know is they better win soon no matter who the coach is or my interests are going elsewhere. Always a Vol, but not investing so much time and emotion into something so frustrating.

This is madness. It's one thing to buy into Gruden when no interviews have been done and no offers have been made, and it would be different if Strong had already turned Tennessee down yesterday and they decided to go back and put the full court press on Gruden. But another coach has an offer and his school is working on a counter offer. People have to be smarter.

I'm not even saying that Gruden is completely impossible. This search is similar to what happened with Alabama and Saban, so it's possible that Hart could say "fizzle it" and just throw $80 million at Gruden. But that's not going to happen until we miss on Strong.

Gundy is the #1 target and has been told to let us know.  Meanwhile Strong is the #2 and really wanted the TN job, however we still haven't heard from Gundy.  Strong realizes he's the #2 and tells TN "screw you" and sticks with UofL.

If it's true that Hart wasn't sold on Gruden and moved on to his top choices, and his top choices all turn him down... We are hosed.
