Let's hope so.  I wasn't thrilled with Jancek this year, but I thought he did well enough to keep his job- unless they already have someone better lined up, that is.  And I do think Shoop would be an upgrade.

Also, no more weird use of safeties as LBs -Starting with Oregon his first year teams took advantage of his weird use of the strong side safety as a LB.

If in fact Butch canned him.....and it's less than 4 weeks before NSD and this coming season being a pretty much make or break season.......I hope like heck Butch has his man and it's a UPGRADE.

The rumpur de jour is Shoop (been vetted) but if memory serves Shoop is a 3-4 guy.  Other rumours indicate possibly an ACC guy.  If that is true then I would go with Chizick, he may suck as a HC but I like his work as a DC

Jancek: Of course Butch, you have no responsibility in any of these losses. That chicken -shizzle conservative play calling didn't have no effect on my defense staying on the field most of the 4th qtr of those games. And you really had the team fired up and hitting on all cylinders against North Texas. How did my defense look against Bama and NW?.... I thought so. Who will be your scapegoat next year?
I am by no means a fan of Jancek. But I just gave him a good and applicable  retort for Butch. I'm sure this will be a gang up on Jancek thread. I think my points are valid though. I hope we get a great DC.

I thought Jancek did a decent job. Hopefully his replacement is an upgrade.

The conversation above between Jones and Jancek is FICTION dude.  No one knows what really happened. 

I was impressed by the overall rating of our D at the end of the season....16th in scoring D is not just good, but dam good.

Having said that, we were middle of the pack until we got into the soft part of the schedule, and vandy, mizzou and NW literally have some of the worst offenses in the country, not to mention N Texas.  And vandy kind of had their way with us for the first half.

I agree that who the replacement is had better be good.  I hope it's not a 3-4, not a fan of that going back to 2012  :frown:
