Palardy took his sweet time getting that one off. With that little time in the half, you got to think WKU's going for the block. You just got to get that punt off quicker.

With the caveat that the opponent was vastly undermanned, I liked a lot of what I saw last night. As others have noted, no penalties, only one turnover, better sideline organization (did we burn any timeouts unnecessarily? I don't recall that we did in the first half, I wasn't paying much attention past about the midpoint of the third quarter). I just hope the fan base is patient, because as positive as things looked from the standpoint of being better coached, the talent and depth gap between us and the better teams on our schedule means that we are likely to take some lumps. We may pull an upset or two, and I have no doubt we'll be more competitive, but with this schedule 8 wins will be very difficult to accomplish, anything over that would almost have to be considered miraculous. So let's give Butch a chance to coach and recruit. He certainly looks like he has more of a handle on things than Dooley ever did.

I'm sure they just looked at last year's score and figured that we can't make up that much ground in one season. But as we all know, the Vandy game is completely dependent on our team's state of mind. Even when they're down, Vandy is going to come into that game sky high. We're their super bowl, and our team has to match their intensity. Last year, our guys had long since mailed it in by November. Hell, half of them were probably trying to get Dooley fired. The result was predictable. If our team had something, anything to play for, the result would have been very different.
And that will Butch's charge this year- make sure his guys' heads and hearts are still in it come November. We're going to go through some hard times before then, but that's the month we can become bowl-eligible as long as our guys don't give up before then.
Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but at the time of the Vandy game we had a shot at a bowl bid.

Let the continuous ESPN coverage begin
No doubt. Skip Bayless will be happy. He will have something to talk about for the next several months. Tebow could be useful in short-yardage and goal-line situations. But then again, are they gonna take Brady off the field?

....I was never a huge Star Wars fan. It just didn't do much for me.
Ditto. I watched the first Star Wars movie and thought it was OK, but have never seen another one. Also was never a big James Bond movie fan. I've seen bits and pieces of some of the movies, but I've never sat down and watched one beginning to end.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Beat me to it. That's a big one for me. I always watch some of it when it comes on. Another Eastwood flick is The Outlaw Josey Wales. Also Saving Private Ryan (probably my favorite movie of all time, but it's not on TV a lot), Platoon and Braveheart.

It's a phenomenal show, and the author and screenwriters have no fear. You certainly don't have time to get bored with the characters . . . nor is the story ever predictable. Last night we all just got punched in the gut again.
I've never read the books, and I won't saw I was able to predict exactly what would happen, but I had a feeling some bad things were going to happen when Robb visited Walder Frey's, but I didn't think it would be all that. Golly Gee Willikers. At any rate, I'm going to miss Robb's wife (can't remember her character name). She can tame my dragon anytime. ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/1naughty.gif)
