This has been mentioned on other UT boards.  Originates from Jason Swain mentioning it today on the radio.  I guess he is an afternoon host on a Knoxville radio station?  Ainge also tweeted some crazy news out of Knoxville and to not miss Dooley's press conference tomorrow.  Who knows . . .

The only thing you can offer a top DC right now is the assurances that he will be first option for HC once Dooley is let go.  I like Dooley but sometimes the deck is just stacked against you.  I don't see how he survives a new AD, coming off a non bowl season, losing to Kentucky, and probably losing a key recruiting class going into his most important season as coach. 

I have heard some chatter on different UT boards that Hart & Kirby Smart are very close.  If this is true and Hart would want Smart, this opening could not be any more gift wrapped for Hart to make his move and bring him in.  For Smart, it would be a short term lateral move most likely.

Wow.  One haymaker after another with this program since Fulmer was fired. 

I see the possibility of 8 wins with that schedule.  I also see the possibility of 5.  This team needs to grow up and fast this offseason. 

I don't know that Martin is a great defensive coach as much as he will not tolerate less than 100% effort on defense or on the court for that matter.  Pearl would continue to go with someone if they loafed on D, Martin will not.  Usually, that looks like better D overall when the stats sometimes don't add up in the end.

I think Dooley can recruit and get the talent here but I don't think he is the coach that gets us to a championship.  I like him and what he seems to stand for within the program overall.  However, with him, there always seems to be a bad bounce or run of luck against us.  I sometimes watch this team expecting a bad break.  He lacks something in his coaching that prevents the team from executing with confidence.  Some coaches have it and others do not. 

Would Arky not stay in the rotation to complete that home and home? 

In OT you just can't run wild to the basket and try some Globetrotter shot.  Golden will learn and I think this team will be fun to watch and knock off a few wins it should not.  To start the season and basically not expect much, these last two days at the Maui against two top 10 team have been fun. 

Clay Travis is a fan of the train that is moving the fastest in sports.  When UT is playing well next year, he will jump on and try to dust off all of his Vol love like it never went away.  Look at Vandy, he has been quick to pull that card and they will barely win 6 games if they are lucky.  Think what he will do when UT is headed to the SECCG.  Offer to drive the bus?  I once liked his sense of humor and views but no longer.  I don't necessarily like Plaster, but I hope he comes back and the new 102.5 puts the 3HL crew on the street.

Basically, all Franklin has over the previous coaches at Vandy right now is a little more charisma. I would love to see them lose to Wake.

I still do not think a team that is not a conference champ should play for the NC.  Then again, if the SEC locks up the NC game this year, maybe it will cause changes to the system that move closer to a true playoff. 

I agree with Revolver.  Living in Nashville is a current nightmare when it comes to Vandy.  They win a few games and think they need to play in the Rose Bowl.  A Vandy win and I might move from middle tennessee.  Then again, I play cards with a few Vandy fans and they were talking some smack about their baseketball team after the Oregon basketball game and top 10 ranking. You see what that got them their next time out on the court.  On many levels, they are still . . . Vandy.  

Within the report, the GA is told a couple of weeks later by the AD that Sandusky's keys to the locker rooms was revoked.  That was basically their response.  You could argue that they told him if he was going to rape, at least it was not going to be on PSU property.  Bad person + bad initial response = extreme media pressure.  I think anyone associated with this will suffer.  

From what I briefly read of the Distric Attorney's report, the GA specifically told Joe Pa and then he passed on the information a day later to the AD and basically was not involved much moving forward.  He was probably right from a reporting standpoint but morally wrong in not doing more once he knew.   By the way, that DA's report is terrible. This is probably the darkest story assoicated with college athletics I can remember.

Wow.  Here we go again.  I remember in years past having injuries but I guess that is the difference in having a team with depth and without. 

I love college football but I am ready for this season to be over.

My fantasy football team greatly enjoyed Brees and his 5 td's before the start of the 4th quarter. 

Hyams has never impressed me. 

If Worley does not start next week then Dooley has some serious explaining to do. 

A win against a ranked opponent for the first time under Dooley is a quality & signature win no matter who UT is playing.   

I don't recall what kind of talent drop off Shula inherited to start his tenure at Bama but for Dooley, I am holding judgement until next year at the earliest.  If the results are the same once we have adequate depth and experience across the board, then he has to answer for that.

In a game like this, I would defer and let our D play first which keeps the crowd noise loud. 

Carolina should be able to beat KY without even starting a QB.  I think the opponent gives Spurrier the room to make such a drastic change. 

I am a Braves fan but can see them losing tonight, Cards winning, and then Braves get a late inning win on Wednesday with the Cards losing.  Only fitting for these last two games.  I only say that the Braves lose tonight because I believe Lowe is pitching.
