At this point, the writing is on the wall. Double Live Cuonzo just doesn't have a clue.
And don't even start with the bring back Pearl stuff. Not going to happen, and especially as long as the current President and Chancellor/AD are in place.
The Pearl ship has sailed.

Curious question from this Auburn fan: are you guys even recruiting a QB? I've heard about the various other positions that you guys are filling with 4 and 5 star recruits. But I haven't heard any mention of a QB, which surprises me since Butch, IMO, would want to get a QB that fits his style of offense.
Many of us have been asking that same question. Wish we had an answer. ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

In 6A Oakland was upset by Blackman, whom Oakland had beaten in the regular season. Their prize? They get to go to #1 Maryville for the semis, who beat a really good Sevier County team like a drum for the second time this year. In the west side semis Hendersonville will host White Station.
5A: West outlasted Anderson County and will host Cleveland in a rematch. West beat Cleveland by 10 in a regular season game. Henry County beat Ridgeway for the second time this year, and will go to upstart Clarksville Northeast in the other semifinals. I've said all along that Knoxville West and Henry County will meet in the finals. I still firmly believe that.
4A: Greeneville turned out to be more talk than action as they went to Knoxville Fulton in a 1 (Fulton) vs 2 (Greeneville) game. Fulton was playing without D1-A prospect and 2K yard rusher Daryl Rollins-Davis, but still rolled the hornless Green Devils 40-20. and it wasn't nearly that close. Knoxville Catholic has gotten some injured players back and went to Hixson and won a game that wasn't decided until the last play of the game 14-13. They will go to Fulton. In the west side of the bracket Giles County and Trezvant will play in the semis.
3A: Alcoa ripped CAK a new one, and will host Upperman, who has a QB named York who has been about 75% of their offense this year. Even if he was SGT Alvin T. York it wouldn't matter. Alcoa has way too much for them. In the other semi game, CPA will play Lewis County. Alcoa and CPA are on a collision course for the championship.
2A: #1 Grace Christian of Knoxville handled Silverdale, and will host Trousdale County in a battle of unbeaten teams and another game with the teams ranked 1-2 in the state. In reality, in my opinion, this is the state championship game. On the other side Adamsville beat Eagleville and Trinity Christian over Memphis Mitchell. That winner will play the GCA/Trousdale winner for it all.
1A: South Pitt is again the team to beat, but they have a real test at a good Coalfield team this week in the semis. Coalfield has a UT verbal in Zach Stewart, and several other guys who will likely play college football at some level. If Coalfield is going to get past the South Pitt barrier, this is the year for them. Could be an interesting game. On the west side, both #1s - Nashville Christian and Union City will meet to see who plays in Cookeville.
In D2 - AA, Ensworth got revenge on Brentwood Academy with a win in the semis, but at a cost. Head Coach Ricky Bowers and an assistant were tossed with 2 second left to go, and have to sit out the finals in two weeks against MUS, who beat MBA in the other semi game.
D2- A, Knoxville Webb is in the finals against St. George's. Webb beat ECS, while St. George's beat DCA.
The D2 teams get a week off before playing a week from Thursday for their championships. The 1A, 3A, and 5A championship games will be on that Friday, followed on Saturday by the 2A, 4A, and 6A championship games.

My personal observation: Let's get this damned season over with, get in the weight room, recruit like mad men, and get ready for spring practice. ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/1banghead.gif) And an addendum: And please re-evaluate the coordinators.

Means more carries for former Powell Panther Dy'shawn Mobley. He was UK's leading rusher Saturday against UGA with 10 carries for 92 yards, including a 69 yard TD. Love to see Deuce go for 200, but UT win the football game. ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/1naughty.gif)

Needed the extra practices. Badly, IMO.
Yep. A lower tier bowl game isn't about the game. It's about that extra practice time for the underclassmen. As for the game, everybody sucked: The players, the coaches, the fans, the cheerleaders - everybody. This season has simply been about survival.

Yep, things went pretty much as expected. Quarterfinals this week. #s 1 and 2 in 4A - Fulton and Greeneville play this week at Fulton. Knoxville Catholic surprised me by winning at Signal Mountain. They are in the other East bracket 4A quarters at Hixson, who has won a couple of low scoring games to get to the quarters. In 5A Knoxville West at Anderson County should be a goof football game, although it wouldn't surprise me to see West win comfortably. In the West bracket Henry County struggled with Memphis East, but survived to advance on to the quarters against Ridgeway. Henry County will have to play better than they did last week to beat Ridgeway. I have said all along that I see Knoxville West and Henry County in the 5A championship game. We'll see if that happens. In 6A Sevier County and Maryville meet at Maryville. Maryville drilled Sevier County in their regular season non-district meeting. Although I certainly expect Maryville to win again I also expect it to be a much closer game. Murfreesboro Oakland is the #1 seed in quad 2, and they will host Blackman for their second meeting of the year. White Station upset White Haven in the second round on the West side of the bracket. In 3A, Alcoa host CAK - again, although this time CAK has been a surprise getting there. They just barely made the playoffs at 4-6. Alcoa should win that one big, but you never know. Upperman and CPA are both unbeaten in 3A. Upperman and Alcoa should get together in the semis, with the winner playing CPA in what could be a really good championship game. In 2A Grace Christian Academy (Knoxville) and Silverdale Academy (Chattanooga) play in one quarters at Grace. Grace is 11-0, and Silverdale 11-1 (Grace had a first round bye as the top seed in 2A), which should be a good football game. Marion County plays at Trousdale County in the other East bracket quarters. Marion County is the bizarre story right now. Check this out: http://timesfreepress.com/news/2013/nov/18/marion-county/And in 1A South Pittsburgh, as is normally the case, seems to be the team to beat. Can't really tell you much about Division 2. I don't really keep up with it, although I am told that Knoxville Webb is the favorite in D2-A, and Ensworth in D2-AA.

That team is so bad (SC Upstate) that there isn't even a line on the game. I guess you realistically couldn't fire Martin after the game if UT loses, but regardless of the outcome this should pretty much cement a "Sweet 16" or bust scenario for his future.
Actually, they aren't all that bad a basketball team. They won at Virginia Tech last Saturday night.

In the Knoxville area South Doyle at AC is an interesting game. If there is going to be an upset it could be here. South Doyle has a lot of weapons.
Campbell County at West in a game between 2 10-1 teams. West has a great run game and Campbell County can fling it all over the field.
Morristown East at Maryville. M-town East was 2-8 last year and is now 10-1. Maryville should win, but you never know.
The big game should be next week. Fulton hosts Sullivan South tonight, and Greeneville hosts Elizabethton. Fulton and Greeneville are 1-2 in the state in 4A and that game would be at Fulton. That will be a state championship caliber game.
Just some of the games that come to mind right off.

Johnson's offense isn't giving the ACC foes as near as much trouble as it did the first couple of years.
Nope, and rumors I am hearing is that he is going to be fired by GaTech and hired by Army to replace Rick Ellerson, who is about to be a lame duck. Johnson would certainly be an upgrade to Ellerson, but I'm just not sure that even he can do much for Army right now. Too many obstacles (they don't get medical and hgt/wgt waivers like the USNA and USAFA do) for any coach to have to deal with right now.
