....the option doesn't work if the QB won't run the ball once in a while. If he doesn't, there's no freaking option. There's just a handoff to the running back. ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/mad.gif) Preach on, brother. Preach on. Turns out that the driver of the SUV is the younger brother of one of the Powell football coaches, and his passenger - the one who was killed - is the son of an acquaintance of mine here in Powell.
There was a lot omitted from the story, such as that the SUV was pulling a boat that exploded in to a million fiberglass pieces, and that the victim who was killed in the SUV's father and brother were following in another vehicle pulling a boat and witnessed the entire accident.
Just a tragic situation all the way around.

I remember Majors doing the coaching show drunk after the win over Notre Dame in the 70s.
Attack, attack, attack! Yep, remember that. Also remember that after we beat Notre Dame that Saturday in 1979 we went to Jackson, MS and got absolutely rolled by Ole Miss the next week. That drive home from Jackson was one of the longest after game drives home I ever made - right up there with the loss (okay, tie actually, but it felt like a loss) at Auburn after we led by about 70 points in the 4th quarter, the loss to that moron Steve Tanneyhill the day they filmed that stupid The Program movie in Columbia, and then the 44-0 ass kicking we took at Athens. Ah, memories - and not very good ones at that.

Course I could have drug out Alan Cockrell and a few other names from the past as well.
Alan Cockrell a "name from the past"? He's going to get a kick out of that one the next time I see him. Cock still looks like he could suit up and play. Had the chance to enjoy an adult beverage with Dewey a couple of weeks ago. Still one of the very best human beings around. I hate the term, but Dewey is the definition of a VFL.

Travesty!
I could eat a Vol Burger with a PBR right now.
Fortunately you still can, but you have to go to the Sam and Andy's in Farragut to do so. The positive is that there is still an S&A's run by the Captain family in town, although one does have to drive to Farragut for it. They also combined the menus of the Roman Room and S&A's so you can get pretty much anything you could at either of those old Strip establishments. George is no longer there, however. He retired when the Roman Room closed.

Going to be on the Strip Friday night. As long as Gus's is still making sandwiches, I will be a happy guy.
You are still good there.

Is The Roman Room not open anymore? The Roman Room, Krystal and Regas on 17th put about 15 pounds on me while I was at UT.
How long has it been since you've been on The Strip? The Roman Room and Sam and Andy's closed about 12 years ago. Regas on 17th closed way before that.

Chesapeake's, Naples, or Ye Olde Steak House. Or you could always bring them out to Pal and get them a burger at Hump's. ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/1naughty.gif)

Cut is right on the money. Every dollar of Pell Grants go to the athlete. They get meal money after the game.
And again I ask - if he didn't have money for food, how did Foster afford to go clubbing?
It's about priorities. Foster had different priorities.

Foster was one who was a regular at bars and clubs on the strip and in the Old City. I have nephews who saw him there on a regular basis. There is nothing wrong with that, but if he could afford to go to those places, which we all know aren't cheap entertainment, then why couldn't he afford his own tacos?
Sorry, but this is nothing but a "look at me" situation. I don't believe that he was starving. In fact, he was overweight and out of shape his senior year. Those aren't characteristics of somebody who is starving.
