Hey, we have something in common this week after all. One thing I've noticed since living in TN, UT fans hate clemsux pretty bad. Why is that? I'm happy you do, but curious at to why. I've noticed tater fans don't like UT at all either. Did you two play each other during the regular season for a while or something? I know why UGA and Clemsux hate each other, but I always wondered why UT fans (most) don't like them.
I hate the tiglets because I live here among 'em. I live in Greenville, SC. Tennessee and the tiglets played twice in the 70's. The first game in '74 we beat them on a last second play by Hollway to Seivers. But the first play of the game was a bomb to Stanley Morgan. Morgan ran the opening kickoff back to about the 30 and then trotted toward the sidelines like he was going off the field. Except he didn't. He lined up at wideout, they didn't see him and Holloway hit him for a TD. The tiglets claimed we cheated and claim so to this day.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Something that bugs me.....

OK, a lot of things bug me, but in the subject of college FB this really bugs me. (It happens in the pros also.) A ball carrier is held up by the defense and another defensive guy comes in from the backside and hits the ball carrier and bumps him ahead 3-4 yards. Why not just stop and pull the pile back? I see it all of the time. This rant isn't about tonight's UT game, but FB in general. That really bugs me. It's on a long list.

That's the only way this makes sense, is if Worley is the guy from here on out.
You are absolutely correct. Quite frankly, I don't know what the Vols should about the QB. I don't want to pick on the guy, but Simms is not an SEC QB. He probably isn't even an FCS (Div. 1-A) QB. So do you stick with him and hope he can get us to 6-6, go to a bowl, get the team extra practice time and some exposure on TV? Or do you go with Worley to prepare for the future? And exactly what is that future? Is it just to prepare him to back up Bray? Are we sure that Bray will leave for the NFL after his junior year? Will Worley be better than Bray? Is Worley bound to be a one year starter and content to back up Bray for two more years? I have a lot of questions. Unfortunately, I have no answers. It's a good thing I'm not paid to have the answers. Because right now, our QB situation is a dadgum mess. Once again, I am the master of the obvious.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the SSd that much. It's definitely nice to have but it's not something worth going through a lot of trouble for given what you stated you use your computer for.
If it's easy to order, I say go for it.. But don't go through too much hassle. It wasn't my intention to complicate your shopping ecperience. :-)
You didn't make it any more complicated than it already was. I appreciate the input. All I want is to order it, get it, hook it up and go. I enjoy the car buying process. Not so much for computers.

Looks good, and to 73VolGrad's point, that meets the specs he listed for under $600. He was right about that because I was thinking "business" desktop, not home and there is a difference in the OS.
If you "personalize" it, you can add MS Office and a Monitor, but I didn't see a SSD drive as an option... maybe you can get it if you call them.
OK, now we're getting somewhere. I can ask them about SSD but I assume that isn't absolutely necessary for a computer schlub like me. Thanks for the help.

I need a new monitor also. I'm thinking a whole new system. That's why it's easy with Dell. But I suppose I could order this and a monitor also. And adding anything is out of my league. We don't have a office computer guy. When we put in the new machines in the office a couple of years ago I hired a tech service to set it up. So whatever I buy has to have it all already installed. I wouldn't dare mess with any of that stuff. Plug and play is what I'm looking for.

This one is 9 years old and it's on it's last legs. I dread this because I have no idea what to get. I suppose I'll just get another Dell. This one has been reliable until now. But I need help in the specs. Right now I have this: Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.4 GHz, 512 SDRAM and 80 GB hard drive. I assume that computers are much better now. I don't do any fancy stuff on the computer (desktop). I keep some pictures and records but use it mainly for internet. I would need some ideas on what I should be looking for now in the modern age. Your help would be appreciated.

Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina have a pact to vote against FSU, Georgia Tech, and Clemson is what I've always heard.
That's the scuttlebutt I'm hearing here. But doesn't it take just 9 teams to approve something?
