I saw a crazy stat that made me say Hmmm. Last year Bama's top receiver(Ridley) had more catches and yards than ALL of UT's receivers combined. That is hard to imagine.
I could believe that.

I see and talk to Trey's Dad several times a week.....He knows where I stand and we don't discuss Trey's recruitment much except he tells me about their visits to schools across the country and how their trips to Knoxville have gone. They are pretty close to the vest as far as who Trey's leader is. Trey's sister being in the program now is huge, IMO. They were in Knoxville weekend before last getting her settled and spent A LOT of time with Butch. It went very, very well.
IMO.....I would put Bama a head of Clemson....and right now I get the vibe UT a head of them all. Never know though.

One problem, I don't think Domady is the QB next year
He might start the season but Gitmo will most likely finish it. FYI....I've been told Jones has come a long way.

Mississippi has some good JUCO football schools. At one time Northwest Miss JC was one of the best in the country. NW was always loaded with D1 talent. When Jimmy Johnson was coaching at the U of Miami he'd send a lot of his Non Qs to Northwest.
I had a good buddy who's son played for us when I was coaching HS football and he went to NW Miss. on a football scholarship and found out real quick he was way out of his league talent wise. He wound up transferring to a NAIA school and did quit well.

I played WGT (World Golf Tour) online and it can be addictive. You can play some of the best courses from all over the world and play against other folks from all over the world. I've gotten on that game and before you know it you look at the clock and I've been playing for 4 straight hours and it's 2am.

A lot of the issues with us whiffing on WR recruits lately is our past history with lack of production with that position group under Butch. I've heard Butch say for 3 seasons that we need to improve in that area and have yet to see it. If I can see it so can the recruits and so can the coaches recruiting against us.
Our passing game beyond the dink and dunks has been downright comical.....in a keystone cop way.

Should have won 2 of the 3 between FL...OU...Ark. Going into the games Ark was the one I was most concerned with because of their OL and running game and it wound up being the case.
UGA comeback was a good one and still had to fight for our lives in the end. UGA takes over on their 2 foot line and proceeds to chew up our defense like a wood chipper. Then playing the worst South Carolina team in many a years we had to have a fumble on our own 8 to win when they took the ball around their own 8 and with one of the worst offenses in the country went through us like crap through a goose. IMO, situations like those added with the OU and Florida clusters is the reason we have a new DC.
The past 3 years we can hang our hat only that we have beat South Carolina and UGA once.....Time to start beating the big boys. The time is now.

Same type of QB as Dobbs, with a better arm
Agree PV....A QB with Dobbs running ability and a better arm could be lethal in this offense...a DC's nightmare. I'm hoping Gitmo has that ability too.

From 247sports National Guy:
Tennessee’s depth chart at quarterback is in good shape.
Senior Joshua Dobbs is arguably the top quarterback in the SEC, and the three guys listed behind him in sophomores Quinten Dormady and Sheriron Jones and freshman Jarrett Guarantano were all touted four-star recruits.
With that, New commit CJ Lewis isn’t going to be asked to play right way.
But when his time comes, he’s got a chance to be really good.
The tools are there for the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Lewis, who out of Cheshire (Conn.) Academy, has only played quarterback on the varsity level for one season. He started at safety as a sophomore for the very good high school program.
Lewis announced his verbal to Tennessee on Saturday choosing to play in the SEC over offers from the likes of Boston College and Connecticut.
Tennessee offensive coordinator Mike DeBord and the Vols staff has had Lewis on the radar for months. DeBord went and saw him at the school during the evaluation period and had him in camp in June where Lewis ran 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. DeBord and company are only taking plus-athletes at the quarterback position and Lewis certainly fits that mold. That’s great speed for the size Lewis will bring under center.
At the New Jersey Nike Football The Opening Regional I thought Lewis flashed a bunch with his arm strength, a fluid athlete that can throw on the move and just flick it with nice velocity on intermediate routes. And in addition to his legs, no question the strength of Lewis’s game is chucking it downfield with accuracy.
“He can throw the deep ball as well as anyone I’ve seen,” Cheshire Academy coach Dave Dykeman said.
Ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 17 dual-threat quarterback, Lewis checks all the boxes, from a size, strength and arm talent standpoint. Becoming more consistent is going to be the deal with Lewis but if it all comes together in Knoxville, Butch Jones and company got their guy Saturday when talking several years down the road.
“I think Tennessee is getting an unbelievable athlete,” Dykeman said. “His upside is ridiculous. He’s athletic. He can do a lot of things. His future is very bright.”

Correct.....you can bet your backside that some of our high end 3 stars would be ranked 4 stars within 24 hours if they had committed to Bama, OSU etc...Most of these so called rankers would use a jockstrap as a dust mask if you gave them one and told them to put it on.
WRs are a hard group to rank because so many are just better athletes than what defensive backs they go against in high school.

Retired...but bored to tears. Golf has been out of the question here in West Tn. this week with temps 96 to 99 and heat indexes of 108-111. Heat warning here through Sunday.
Guess I'll stay in and drink beer for entertainment.
