Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Franklin fired at Penn State

With the win over PSU, UCLA interim head coach Tim Skipper tied the total number of wins over top ten ranked BIG 10 teams that Franklin had his entire career at Penn State (1). Now, though, that UCLA win doesn't look nearly as impressive. 😂

James Franklin deserves to get tarmac'd for this performance.
Franklin is 4-21 against AP top 10. He is 1-18 against BIG top ten teams. You'd think that the fan base would be getting tired of that. Playing all of those weaker Big 10 teams every year has definitely helped him keep his job.

Commonly referred to as a De Cleater. Good thing that tough little QB kept getting back up....Our history with backup QBs isn't real good. They actually played their B/U several snaps Saturday He more or less is a one trick pony, as in a runner at the moment I read that his dad was a little upset that they burned his redshirt for that.

Sucks to lose but today was a step forward. We actually answered when they took control in the 2nd half. And we have a quarterback! Gonna be a great season. Yeah. When they took the lead right after halftime, I was thinking we wouldn't score again until garbage time, if at all. We've all seen that movie before. Joey played his guts out. Still think he's going to have a special season. Two likes here.

My only complaint: Next to last drive Tennessee was in FG range after second down. I think you have to have faith and give Joey a chance to move the chains on that third down. I didn't think they were aggressive enough there.
Last year, this staff took a QB that couldn't run this offense and won 10 games and made the CFP. I just think that they could have been more aggressive on 3rd down when we kicked the FG to go up 8. Could have/should have won this game.

I think that Klatt is full of it. Nico was rarely able to read past one option imo, much less read both sides of the field for multiple options. Until proven differently, I will believe that the offense had to be simplified and slowed down in order for him to be able to function in it at all.

#3 has tons of circumstantial evidence. Its almost for certain, and they did it to Kliempson also.
I think the clincher is that it happened two weeks in a route to potential playoff teams. If it had only been Tennessee, I wouldn't be nearly as confident that they had the signs.

I've not seen one article anywhere that Coldplay is being sued. Film don't lie....there is zero case.
I agree that he has no case. I saw several references this past weekend suggesting that he had made a statement that he was considering a lawsuit, but it would be an exercise in futility imo. I do not have evidence that he actually made such a statement, so my OP should have been worded differently.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So, what's the Boo Carter situation?.........

My guess from everything that I have read (and it is a 100% guess): Somebody on the team (maybe more than one somebody) gave Boo a lesson in corporal punishment last week. He didn't take it well and left the facilities. As of now, he hasn't returned.
Why do I think this might be at least partially true? There was a cryptic post on VQ last week about someone falling on a helmet. The past several days, there have been posts from some members suggesting that the team has already dealt with Boo, very harshly. There were also early reports that the UTPD was involved in an investigation that might involve Boo.

I suppose that I should be excited about the recent recruiting news, but in today's college landscape it just isn't the same. It is definitely better to sign these guys than not, though.

I actually feel sorry for the left fielder. That will be with him forever. He made a bad first read on a difficult line drive and couldn't get back in time to make the routine catch. R
Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that LSU beat the Razorbacks but I do feel for that kid.
I'm now a Chanticleer fan!!!
should have never got to the point the LF had to make a play The 1st baseman with a boneheaded play followed by the SS making an absolute bonehead play DVH leaving the pitcher in too long The list is long Absolutely! The irony, however, is that the left fielder's blunder will be the play that is most remembered of the three.

If Aloy turns the DP instead of throwing out the lead runner at third (who was irrelevant as LSU was down by two runs) then the outfield mistake and Jones' hit never happen. That ground ball should have ended the game.

Tennessee gave up a run on a wild pitch. The second run was a batter who drew a 4-pitch walk with 2 outs and nobody on base. There was also a run given up due to a fielding blooper at 2nd.
The Vols should have probably won that game despite only having two hits.
