Mark is, once again, in harms way this Veteran's Day And a special mention that Mark's son is now in the United States Army, having either recently completed, or about to complete basic training. Happy that my son, although he is 1000 miles away from us, is state side at Fort Hood, TX, now and not currently deployed.

Thanks Bill, and OJ as well. Momma just went to see my some Reid during his family day and he's doing well. Amazing actually. I can't put to words just how proud I am of him.
I can't wait for him to graduate AIT and then move onto Airborne school. A very good friend of mine will pin his wings on him, I'm down about having to miss that, but a lot of the squad leaders that I have worked with in the past will be there as well because they know I will miss it, and that is an honor that makes my eyes water. I've been blessed during my years in the Army

Thanks to all the vets and those currently serving. I'd also like to give a special shout out to my son at Keesler AFB just in case he has a chance to lurk.

Ahh, Keesler by the smelly back bay. When I was there it was not all that long after Camille and was truly a backwater place. Now, the casinos have changed it a lot

Tech school at Keesler was my favorite time in AF. Once our class finished Pinger Tech in Allee we had class on swing shift, so we'd go to the beach every morning, and usually roadtrip West to NO or East to Destin on weekends. Good times. The first two casinos opened about a month before I left.

Loved my time at Keesler as well. It was in 1981-2. I saw The Stones at the Super Dome when I was there. I liked the Biloxi area. Used to go mess with the squids in Gulfport. Loved those crawdads cooked in hot sauce, also got to visit Mobile a few times. Great times and memories.

Our dorm room literally shared a wall with the Tiger's Den. We could look out our window and see all those of legal age stumbling out the door right outside. Too bad we were all mostly underage. Fortunately, we found out very quickly which places in town would sell to underage airmen.
