or are they playing over their heads and will lose a few more. Can they beat Sparty and the Bucknuts? Harbaugh is a good coach, but why did he get a pass for the lameness of SF last year? Woodson picking off Peyton twice Sunday made me remember why I hate them. He has been a HOF CB though. He is one of the best ever. Just not Heisman worthy..LOL. I still can't believe how easy some of the BIG schedules are. OSU doesn't play anyone until about the 9th week. Iowa is undefeated and their schedule is even weaker. Is it really fair to pick playoff teams with this degree of strength of schedule difference. Hypothetical...Who would you have ranked higher, and undefeated Ohio State or and undefeated LSU. LSU has a killer schedule and the Bucknuts have a joke of a schedule. Or do you care?

They are good, much better defense this year - but of course they're in the Big 10 so who knows how good they are. If they beat Sparty and Ohio state, they're a possible playoff team

All you can say at this point is they are vastly improved.  Hard to say how good they are in relation to teams outside the big 10, but we all pretty much said the same about OSU last year.  Looks like it doesn't matter how you get there (playoffs), but what you do once you get there.  My guess is they lose at least two more, but beat either Sparty or the whiners.

Northwestern was no. 13 in the country and they beat them 38-0.  They also beat BYU 31-0 when BYU was 22.  Their one loss to Utah by a TD in the opener looks better, as Utah is undefeated and currently ranked 4th in the country.

I already know that a typical southerner will discount BYU and northwestern cause "it erhnt the sec!"

Well, even if Northwestern and BYU were vastly overrated, which they are, 31-0 and 38-0 are very impressive wins.

Michigan under Harbaugh is the real deal, period, dot.

The media and fans, as I note elsewhere, are always playing catch up.  I expect Michigan to win, and they may well win big.

As for Harbaugh "getting a pass" for one single bad season in San Fran....

Anyone who thinks San Fran did not make a mistake should not be allowed to legally drive or otherwise function as an adult in our society.  That was one of the single stupidest moves by a GM in the history of the NFL.  It's like the Red Sox trading Babe Ruth or Atlanta trading Brett Favre.

You know...hows it working out for San Fran?  They won't even sniff the playoffs this year.

Yes, I think they are good, and I think they'll beat Michigan State.

At the end of the season I'll be able to tell you whose hype was real.

I believe they will be undefeated in big10 and have a major show down with osu.  they look like a completely different team with players buying in and doing their jobs.  apparently the cub-bards were not as bare as all thought and the difference is the NFL type coaching idk if that makes as big a difference or not but it sure seems that way for big blue.
