I say we just run right at them.. Fla has a great pass rush from the outside and they will be bringing the house early and often.. Use their aggression and speed against them,try to pound the rock,wear them down.
Draw plays,screen plays,misdirection,shovel passes.. Anything to negate their speed on defense.
Then play action to Caloway or JJ when they load the box.
As long as the score is close try to pound the rock all day,shorten the game and hopefully wear them down by the 4th quarter and some big plays might open up.
Can't afford any turn overs and hopefully get at least one from them..

Agreed.. For all that has gone wrong this year a win would be huge for this team. It all starts up front with the O-line and the running game. JG just needs to protect the ball and play smart. I would bring the house early on their backup qb and hopefully get him rattled then disquise and keep him guessing.Need a couple of turn overs to go our way this time.

From what I read it was stupid on Thompson's part to blow up the way he did but it looks like all he really did wrong was take his frustrations out on that poor gate. Make him pay for the damages,take some anger management courses and hopefully he will learn from it. Go Vols!

I was telling my dentist yesterday (he's a UT grad) to calm down and remember that Pruitt inherited the only team in UT history to go winless in the SEC and he's had one year to work with that team and one hastily thrown together recruiting class and one planned class. He needs 2 more years at least to be able to show what kind of coach he will be.         

Yep! Having Bituli back on defense will help a lot and if Thompson somehow gets cleared and is able to come back will help too. The O-line needs to solidify and give JG confidence.I think he's just been shell shocked from all the hits from last year but his play will improve if the O-line comes together and if the running game continues to get better,taking the pressure off of him.

I don't care if Nick Saban or Jesus himself was the UT coach right now.Until we get depth and a few more solid recruiting classes and the ones we do have right now get more game time experience,this is gonna happen.It's not pretty but it is what it is.
Is only the second game of his second season and folks are talking about firing him.
Pruitt was never a head coach before,he's gonna make mistakes obviously and hopefully get better and become a great coach but I do believe this team will get better as the season goes on.
Am looking forward to seeing how well they play against Fla. They may get blown out but they may surprise some folks.
Is way too early to write this team and this coach off just yet imo.

I think JG is just gun shy,after all the hits he took last year.So far in 2 games they have rotated in and out 10 different O-linemen trying to find the right mix.
IMO,he doesn't have confidence in his protection and it shows in his slow check downs and late passes.
He had several passes that had they been throw a second sooner would have been big plays or even a TD
They need to find 5 guys that work best and stick with them and get JG out of the pocket,roll him out on the run some and mix it up to give the receivers time to get open and get his confidence back.
Grey was a beast,looking forward to seeing him get more snaps. Not ready to call the season a total loss just yet.

Haven't heard anymore about it since they announced he was suspended.

2nd half,communication for the D was so bad that they had to burn a time out and after that the whole defense had to look to the sideline to see what coverage was called That's something that you would expect in the 2nd scrimmage in spring camp,not the 2nd game of the year.

Florida seems to have a great pass rush unit. With that said,hopefully our O-line will be better than last year and just run the ball right at them and try to establish a running game first.
Hopefully Chaney will come up with a game plan to use Florida's speed against them in passing situations.
Screens and reverse plays,shovel passes and qb roll outs to move the pocket and quick release passes to the backs in the flat.
If Chaney tries to keep JG in the pocket all day,he might not make it through the game.. Go Vols!!

I don't feel good about this game even with a healthy JG... If our front seven can't get pressure on Vandy's QB,he will carve up our secondary all day long just like Mizzou did last week.

I wonder how that EGO is about now and even a lot of Raiders fans are already calling for his head........I hope he never wins much...falls on his ego and is forgotten about in 3-4 years.

With that said........if he's out of a job in 3-4 years and UT is looking for a coach you can bet the Grumors to UT will ramp up and many UT fans will fall for it.

My feelings as well..You could see he had no real interest and was playing on the idiots that thought he might come to UT.. I flat out didn't want him and never will.

Yeah,I'm not buying the Chucky Kool Aid... Sometimes you just fall into the right place at the right time with the right folks around you like when he won the Super Bowl. I don't think he's a great coach or even an ok coach.Time will tell but I don't see him surviving that 10 year contract. Just my opinion,but am glad he didn't end up at UT

That run TD by Hurt in the 2nd half ,you could clearly see the receiver at the goal line with both hands full of jersey near the shoulder pads on our player,from all tv replay angles,was no wonder he just walked in the end zone..

Announcers talking about how much time Tua is having to throw.. How about that take down tackle/hold on the td play.. ugh
