Anyone on here had any success with rooting of their phone?  I'm not really considering it strongly, I'm just curious if anyone has done it and if so what their thoughts on it were?

Yep, rooted HTC HD2 Windows phone to allow dual Windows/Android OS, rooted tablet because I wanted all the factory bloat gone, rooted several android phones to allow upgrade to custom ROM mods.  I have never had any issues, and all my resulting mods have been basically what I was hoping to achieve.  My suggestion if you decide to go that route--just go to XDA Developers, read, learn, and download until you are 100% comfortable, channel your inner Nike and just do it.  Of course, it voids warranties, and there are bricking risks, so it just depends on how bad you want to do it.  Personally, even though my success rate to date is 100%, I would probably not try it on new phone or tab unless I really, really wanted a change.
