Will he see the field? If not, will he ever (in a TN uniform)?

Delivered a nice ball, flat drop as it hit the receiver in a bad spot, his hands

I've been sighting in rifles. Ummm, why is Guarantano in? Not complaining or applauding, just wondering.

Yea, I meant will he ever play again.

Unfortunately, yes.  Would have preferred he continued to get splinters.

This was a bad effort, but IMO Dormady staying in would have led to a couple more scores.  Then put G in the last two series.

Very strange move to put G in, but maybe understandable.  I'da yanked him after the first or certainly second series though.

news flash, we weren't going to score with QD at the helm
With his piss poor mechanics they might have scored again

Disagree.  Dormady looked like shizzle against Ga Tech for about 3 quarters.  Against UF for 2+ quarters.  Against ISU for about a quarter.  Against UMass for about 1.5 quarters. Then got his shizzle together, in all four games.  It happened in this game, he should have stayed in.

What is your proof we would not have scored?  In his two early 3rd quarter drives, he did got a first down on the first drive prior to punting, then led us to the FG.  Gurantano was 3 and out, 3 and out, 5 and out, for a total of 10 yards.  I could elaborate on Gurantanmo's performance, but I don't think it's necessary.

I want to be clear I am not saying I didn't want Gurantanamo to see the field.  The timing is what I question.

But sorry, Dormady was moving the ball well enough.  The obvious thing to do was pad the lead and then bring G in.  And if the lead doesn't get padded, let him sit.

Butch backed himself into a quarter by pretty much saying that Guarantano had earned the right to play. So either he meant Guarantano would share time with Dormady, or he was sending a bad message to his players that UMass was a cupcake and Tennessee would put them away early. Either way, he put himself in a position to where he would've received all kinds of flack (plus the risk of further alienating the Guarantano family) similar to the Georgia Tech game. Situations like this have to be handled delicately and from all indications, Butch isn't managing this one very well, if our ultimate goal is to keep Guarantano on the roster. I just think that for someone who keeps so many aspects of his program secretive, Butch's mouth gets him in more trouble than it should. He has that in common with Donald Trump.
