I've had mild bouts of shingles on two separate occasions.  I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but they are pretty aggravating.  I haven't had the vaccine.

My wife had them once, several years ago, and hers were awful for her.  The worst part is that you often don't realize that you have shingles until the rash appears - and that can be weeks after the pain begins.  That's what happened to my wife.  She took the vaccination after hers cleared up.

I got the vaccine -- no issues with it.  I didn't want shingles, I've heard it's horrible!

I got the vaccine about three years ago. Now I hear that there is a new one and we should take that also.

Get it. It's just an injection. It does cost about $245.00 so see if your insurance will pay it.

imagine. Get the shot. It's worth it. Also get the pneumonia shot. Just hope you never get the rabies series like I had to go through. And no they are not in the stomach, but it weeks long and lot's of injections. I mean lot's. I think I had 12 the first night in the ER. and then each week you come back for more.
