It's good that he can still make it out to games at his advanced age. Whatever he can do to stay active.

Don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard to look at what's going on elsewhere and not feel optimistic. National seeds are struggling (if not already eliminated) all over the bracket, and we just keep on keeping on. This team looks dialed-in.

Who had Cal Stark winning Region MVP? I think it?s gonna happen.

They would?ve been on our side of the bracket in Omaha, too.

Between Burns and Maui Ahuna, I think CTV learned some valuable lessons on culture and roster management last year. Burns (and his handlers) was just a pain in the ass, and I don't think they'll let anyone get away that kind of BS again. Ahuna was by all accounts a good teammate, but his NIL deal apparently caused friction.

In Rick Barnes, we have maybe the best "culture coach" in any sport anywhere. The rest of our coaches would do well to seek his advice.

It's nice to know that Burns didn't have to come out of the bullpen this season.

That guy that just went deep for IU is far and away their best player, and he's just a sophomore. I would never, never, EVER advocate for tampering- but I wouldn't be opposed to our guys being extra friendly and welcoming to him this weekend.

Curley and Amick are back. Reese Chapman is starting to heat up. If all of those guys are right, this lineup has no holes. Very good sign at the right time of the year.

Definitely a choking contest. Top of the 9th was just an absolute shizzleshow by ECU. Then Wake said ?hold my beer?.

Yesavage is really tough for ECU, but nothing else about that team scares me. In fact, I would bet right now that they don?t make it to Knoxville.

I guess Chase needs to spend a little more time in that vaunted ?pitching lab?.

That got suspended for cheating with a foreign substance, and then came back and shut us down the last day of the regular season, gave up 8 runs in 3.2 innings to Coastal Carolina yesterday. Now I?m not necessarily saying there?s anything fishy about that, but there ARE a lot more cameras and eyeballs on you in the postseason.

Again- I?m not sayin?, I?m just sayin?.

While the team was in B?ham last weekend he snuck out on Saturday night, made the short drive over to Tuscaloosa, pulled into the nastiest dive bar he could find, took the first snaggle-tooth slumpbuster he saw to the local Super 8, and rest is history.

A quarter mile from me right now is a Vol man cave that would rival this one. I've seen it several times. He actually put photos of it on VN a few years back.

My man cave is a little 3rd bedroom, where my Vol stuff has to share wall space with the Braves, Preds, Falcons, and PGA. But I did manage to cram in a daybed, 65? TV, and Golden Tee cabinet. I?m saving room for NBA Jam whenever I can find it on sale.

What, no wine cellar? Outrageous!

That, however, is a dedicated fan. With a lot of disposal income. 

Well if you notice near the end, there is another room in the back that he didn?t show us. Could be a wine cellar. Or a walk-in humidor. Or an arcade. Or a golf simulator. Or just a boring spare bedroom. 😉

Had absolutely no doubt that Wake Forest would be in our bracket. NCAA has a way of doing that, huh?

They?ll probably see to it that Wake advances out of that region, too. Whether they earn it or not.

Oh well. LNS should be nice and rowdy for that series. 

 

A lot their bats that raked last year weren?t so great this year. If not for the outstanding pitching, they?re probably no better than a .500 team.

Sucks, because in a year when OU looks slightly more beatable than usual, the window is cracked open for somebody. I suspect OU will go back to their superhuman selves next year. 

The Vols are officially a region host. Try to contain your shock.

We?re almost certainly the #1 seed, so we?ll be opposite the 16- likely ECU or Arizona.  The question is who will be the 2 seed in that region. If it?s not MSU or Wake, I?ll be surprised.
